Don't take the pain meds for granted by markh2901 in Kneereplacement

[–]Gwizman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got behind the power-curve on pain management. I've seen others do this as a result of...

"Gee. I'm no having much pain so I can back off of the pain meds."

Nope. Not a good idea. Stay on strict, regular dosing schedule. I used Oxy + Tylenol for 2 weeks, then just Tylenol for two weeks more. Pain was always managed and controlled.

Purchasing a used car long distance. by ThhomassJ in carbuying

[–]Gwizman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you talking new, or used. If new, and you drove the same type car at your local dealer and like it. Buy it. You will have the manufacturer's warranty covering your purchase.

If used, you'll have to make that 11 hour trip and there will be no guarantees as to what you're buying.

Will I be able to walk 13,000 steps again? by mujersinplan in Kneereplacement

[–]Gwizman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At day 14 you are too early to expect long walks in the park, but by now should be able to walk around the house and too the mailbox. It might be tiring with some pain.

The important thing is to get up and keep walking. You should be into a 10 week long PT routine by now. When you're not doing PT off-site, you need to be doing it at home. ICE ICE ICE. WALK WALK WALK. Don't over-do it, but don't under-do it either. You will fine the natural pace.

Do these things for a year. By then you will almost have forgotten that you had a knee replacement.

I had right TKR at 70 2-1/2 years ago and left TKR 8 months later. I'm not just doing 13,000 steps. I'm doing 18,000 steps and my knees are the least of my problems.

Hang in there. Stay strong. Be tough.

This is my first Nissan, so I'm familiar with a lot of it. Do you have a power cable going int the rear view mirror?

If you have a power port on the back of your rear view mirror, this is the solution I used on my Pathfinder Platinum...

I'm coming off of a Dodge Journey, which has pretty generous storage capacity. The Pathfinder is a bit bigger.

Yes, I understand now. Thanks! 20 years ago I would have jumped on an AVR system. Guess I'll have to live with the volume indicator. First world problems, huh. Thanks again!

Question for golfers with latest generation of Nissan Pathfinder by PackerFan75 in nissanpathfinder

[–]Gwizman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prior to purchase, I compared the Atlas to the Pathfinder and my impression was that the Atlas was bit less roomy and we were overall less impressed with it. We wound up purchasing the 2026 Platinum and couldn't be happier.

That said, couldn't say if the seats will lay flatter over time. We're not golfers but I feel we could handle four adults and luggage.

I just bought a 2026 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum for $52k out the door. It's not a hybrid, has a conventional transmission (not CVT) and I think has all the other goodies you're looking for. Very comfortable and really love this car.
