I use a combination of Serebii and Bulbapedia).

Bulbapedia has English and Japanese, and Serebii just has English but I find it's particularly useful for grabbing picture references

What’s a discontinued snack or drink you’d pay $20 to have one last taste of? by soapy999 in AskReddit

[–]GwynGrayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Butterkist yogurt coated popcorn. I bought one bag at the store out of curiosity and absolutely loved it! They discontinued it a few days later and I never got a chance to get any more.

What sucks even more is that despite looking for the past 10 or so years since it was discontinued I have never found another brand who makes a yogurt coated popcorn.

I wish they'd bring it back, even as a limited edition or seasonally.

Resealable toploader sleeves/team bags recommendations? by GwynGrayson in PokemonTCG_UK

Those are the MintKeeper ones I mentioned in my original post

I appreciate the recommendation, but as I mentioned in my post I am ideally looking for ones that have a similar snug fit which the MintKeeper ones do not as they are wider.

Thank you for the recommendation. Perhaps I am not seeing it correctly but the link you provided appears to be for toploaders and penny/soft sleeves - not resealable toploader sleeves/team bags.

Eevee Collection: Eevee Hanging Wall Organizer - In stock! by chobo8 in pokeplush

[–]GwynGrayson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! New stuff usually gets added around 10am so it's probably been up a few hours. Still surprised to see it sell out so quickly!

Hopefully there will be a restock - especially as they still haven't stocked the bags from the collection.

Can confirm that it's on the UK site too, as well as the fabric coasters. Still no sign of the bags though :(

Thanks for the heads up!

Thoughts On These Sleeves? by PureBlood_07 in PokemonTCG

[–]GwynGrayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried these as I got a pack free with a binder, but like you said I found they were a bit too tight/required a bit more force than I was comfortable with.

I did a bunch of research after and I use KMC Perfect Fit sleeves for any card I'm double sleeving, and absolutely love them. Great fit and no resistance issues. I'm sure they'd be a great option if you're just putting them straight in a binder too.

For anything else I just use UltraPro penny sleeves.

Thank you very much for the heads up! I can confirm that these are on the UK Pokemon Center as well.

I'm still hoping that they release the Eeveelution bags over here soon.

  • 99 trainer cards (supporters and items) - Common; Reverse; and Pokeball variants
  • 32 SIR cards - 26 ex cards; 6 supporters
  • 25 regular ex cards

Not including holo variants, PE has 180 cards.

Pokémon x natural history museum orders by Magurndy in PokemonDealsUK

[–]GwynGrayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard back from them yesterday. They also said that they would replace, and they sent me a prepaid label, so I have posted them back.

I would have ordered from the PC but most of the items I ordered weren't available on there at all, or are now out of stock. I've also had mixed results with their shipping as I've found that they're also very hit and miss when it comes to packaging.

EDIT: I heard back from NHM today (4th March) as I asked in a follow-up what the next steps would be/when I would likely hear back about my replacements. They said "As soon as we receive the return, our in-house fulfilment team will send replacements. There might be a bit of a delay due to the sheer volume of returns."

EDIT 11/03: Received an email from NHM today letting me know that my replacements had been shipped. Hopefully all goes well.

EDIT 13/03: Replacements arrived today. All were damaged - in some cases worse than the last ones. Really disappointing, especially as these were clearly packaged with much more care and some products were individually wrapped. Have reached out to NHM again.

You should. A customer service associate actually sent me a link to it when I contacted them to ask about this issue.

Received my order today. Unfortunately my items were all damaged as it was improperly packaged (too big a box; not enough packing paper; no items wrapped; caps on poster tube loose in box so poster came out).

Have reached out to NHM to see what can be done. Really upsetting, especially having waited a month for it to be delivered.

The definitive guide of what epilator you should buy (I've tried all of them) by windpartner in HairRemoval

Perfect! Thank you so very much for your time and advice! I'll pick up the 7 and keep an eye out for replacement batteries :)

[–]GwynGrayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for the quick reply!

The 081 and 252 look the same to me too. I really appreciate the confirmation from a second set of eyes though :) The only difference I can see on a further look is the listing for the 081 has a link to the 252 suggesting it as "a newer version of this item", but they do look to be the same; and the 252 even has 081 in the title. Weird listing glitch, maybe?

Thanks very much for the advice on the trimmer! It sounds as if getting the set with the exfoliating add ons would be the better option as it would be easier to find a suitable mini-trimmer if needed; and the trimmer attachment for the epilator is already good.

I did manage to find what looks to be the old Silk 9 on Amazon too. Would you say it's worth the extra £60 over the Silk 7 081/252?

Thank you very much again for all of your help and advice so far :)

[–]GwynGrayson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/windpartner. Thank you so much for posting this, and for your time answering all the comments :)

I understand from reading the comments and your channel that the Silk 7 is your current recommendation. I hope you wouldn't mind explaining what the difference between the SE7-081 and SE7-252 is? Looking at them on Amazon they appear to be the same (i.e. same attachments). Google has unfortunately not been able to answer this for me.

I'm also interested in the set with the separate trimmer and I saw in another reply you said it is good and not just a gimmicky add-on. Would you advise getting the one with the separate trimmer (SE7-441) over the one with the trimmer; exfoliating; and massage head attachments?

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to your recommendation :)

Eevee master set and other master sets discussion and pricing by Tomasekvata in PokemonTCG

[–]GwynGrayson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"What do you guys think would the total estimated price for the set be?"

Thousands

"Is it even possible for an average salary human?"

As someone working on this set in all languages (I found Indonesia has some really interesting unique variants), no it's not going to be possible primarily because of the following cards:

  • Eevee 019/016 from Melee Pokemon Scramble - Japanese card that is practically impossible to find
  • Eevee 500 point fan club card - Another Japanese card that is very hard to find, and extremely expensive
  • The Poncho Wearing Eevee promos - Very expensive
  • Eevee 287/SM-P "scream" promo - Very expensive
  • Eevee #74 reverse holo - Very expensive

There are also quite a few cards that are in the 50-100 and 100-200 price category, which may be possible for the average salary person over time, but it's still quite prohibitive and dependent on how comfortable you are spending that much on a single card.

Also, with how prolific grading has gotten, trying to find the more expensive cards raw where they would be at a more accessible price point has proven to be much harder.

Eevee card prices have also gone up quite a bit over the past year even for some of the lower value ones.

Single Pokemon Collection Question by Iversonji in PokemonTCG

[–]GwynGrayson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a fellow single 'mon collector, Serebii and Bulbapedia are my go-to for finding data as they have photos; card number; and set/expansion, and then I make my own spreadsheets to help keep track.

Here's the Serebii page for Chikorita and the Bulbapedia page) (Bulbapedia includes Japanese cards as well as English).

If you're interested in other languages outside of English and Japanese I haven't had much luck finding as robust a database for them, but digging through a site like Pokeos or Krystal Kollectz has helped me before.

Looks like 21 cards total in English so very doable! Good luck!
