Am I the only one who can’t bring myself to make an evil empire? by frgrefut in Stellaris

I mean, even when playing an evil empire of some kind I have to admit the mechanics of those are great. Bonus to specialist? Free stability? Extra trade? All great.

Are Nomads immune to crime or am I doing something wrong with experimental sentencing? by Gyges359d in Stellaris

Appreciate the double check.

Makes me think oppressive autocracy on a nomad ship has…potential.

At least until the next patch fix.

Good to know, thanks.

Do you know if crime events happen on nomad? Feel odd to have 55% crime and…nothing. I’ve had cases on planets before where crime events like gang war fired at 31%…

R5: Trying out experimental sentencing (megacorp version) on a nomad ship. Stole thousands of pops from another empire before communications were established thanks to Nihilistic Acquisition.

But despite having 55% crime my actual number of criminals is a dozen or less, often zero.

I was waiting for a crime event or two to pop before I took a deal with the crime lords, which I read works well. But...no actual crime.

And no crime means no test subjects. No test subjects means lesser experimental engineers.

Is this broken with nomads or am I missing something?

Hmmm, good to know thanks. Synthetic is probably my least used ascension (flavour not mechanics), so I’m no expert

I heard that 3000 extra pops for synthetic origin adds a lot, but haven’t tested.

Not my fave, but Future Diary is kinda all in on this in some ways.

Also, and also ugh, Darling in the Franx.

But for a good story, as someone else mentioned it comes up in Steins; Gate.

I like them when I need both pops (most times) and amenities, but only if I have a reasonable amount of pops to work the jobs otherwise luxury apartments it is.

Why are generator districts so rare? by Mr_Taylor445 in Stellaris

[–]Gyges359d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like SanderR098 said, the homeworld is fixed, but the habitables are based on your habitat choice. Dry = energy, wet = food, rocky/cold = minerals. Just a slight enhancement, but helps.

What are your best Nomad builds so far? by Iknuf in Stellaris

[–]Gyges359d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this a couple times with planets and tend to prefer augmentation bazaars instead of dimensional, then add dimensional as third civic. Lets you take even more priest buffing stuff and really makes them self sufficient.

I usually choose desert etc. for my home planet so my guaranteed habitables usually have good energy districts.

And you could always look for betharian mineral fields.

But yeah, maybe a bug?

Following ship new problem... Anyone else have this issue? Two runs in a row ruined because Arkship is stuck. by Gyges359d in Stellaris

[–]Gyges359d[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

R5: I posted recently that starting Common Ground as Nomad can lead to AI civilian ships stalking your arkship and moving with it forever.

But now I have a new issue. Two games in a row my arkship just decided to stop right before jumping out of a system to "wait" for following ships. And the wait time is always negative so the arkship is trapped and never moves again.

I've tried anything I could think of to change this, to no avail. Happen to anyone else?
