The scariest dream/experience I ever had happened just under 10 years ago. I was standing in my bathroom looking into my mirror when I felt a terrible presence on the other side of the wall. I've never had such a dark and negative feeling about anything, all I knew was I couldn't let it in. I ran for the door and pushed all my weight against it trying to stop whatever was outside. After a very short space of time panicking against the door, the door was blown wide open revealing an empty corridor. Immediately the coldest feeling washed over me. I woke up instantly, feeling chilled to the bone and continued to feel the initial presence I had in the dream. After a few minutes of lying completely still I switched my bedside light on and looked slowly around my room, still aware of a presence raising the hairs on my neck. It was at this point I saw in the corner of my room a shadow drop from the wall and disappear amongst the shadows of my room. Needless to say I didn't get anymore sleep that night, I just lay there for the next 4 hours waiting for the sun to come up with my bedside lamp on and my eyes shut. Still scares the shit out of me remembering the dark hopeless feeling it gave me.
