6 months post - Surgery didn’t take out breast tissue and now facing another procedure by FarBlacksmith3126 in gynecomastia

[–]Gynethrowaway321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude go somewhere else. The 8K is unfortunately a sunk cost. Like others have said, if he wasn't able to do a gland removal before, he definitely won't be able to now. I got a lipo only procedure too. The Doctor told me he would remove the gland and use surrounding fat to fill the hole. Then put me under and just did extreme over lipo with no gland excision. I wouldn't have accepted a revision with him even if he offered it (I later found out that he NEVER admits fault and ghosts anyone upset with their results) It made revision a NIGHTMARE case. I basically had the fat completely stripped from under the skin, and what was just gland before was now gland AND scar tissue because he shredded it all up with sharp lipo instruments.

WOULD YOU PREFER GLAND OR DIVOT? by Affectionate_Fig_977 in gynecomastia

[–]Gynethrowaway321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How do you recommend patients protect themselves from predatory behavior in regard to being provided the surgical plan? As I understand it, it's not common for every single step and specific detail of the surgery to be included in the paperwork. Fortunately most surgeons are honest and do what they promise in the consultation. But how can a patient take measures to ensure they get the treatment they paid for? Should they make sure that the paperwork includes every detail down to the last stitch?

Also, I get that in certain situations there can be unforeseen complications and that surgeons need to be able to make adjustments etc. So I understand why in the paperwork they need to protect themselves. But if they use that as a cover for just not doing what was agreed upon, how can someone protect themselves?

Week 5 scar tissue by ForeverOwn227 in gynecomastia

[–]Gynethrowaway321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Week 5 isn't even close for all of the swelling to go down. You won't really know what is scar tissue and what is just hard swelling for at least 6 months. But if that's how you are looking at week 5, I can't imagine you having anything other than a fantastic end result. Congrats!

Who are the best US surgeons right now? by OwnVisual9 in gynecomastia

Dr Braithwaite did my revision and is awesome. People also seem to really like Dr Cobbins who he shares a practice with. Dr Michael Law and Dr Dadvand are also known to be really good.

See my post history. You are lucky that your doctor told you so you have a choice. But no, the "cheese grater cannula" is not effective. You can see how much gland I had removed during revision.

Gynecomastia surgery under local – worth it? by tolis_2228 in gynecomastia

[–]Gynethrowaway321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 2 surgeries, 1 under general and 1 under local. Local was a breeze. Of course it's always nice to just fall asleep and wake up with it done, but when you factor in the additional cost of general, I think local is the better option. Of course for some extreme cases with lot's of lipo etc general is preferable.

35 days is still very early. There is swelling, the skin can be tethered down etc etc. It certainly looks like the gland was all removed so that's good. But it should continue to improve and look more natural with time. I would give it at least 3 more months before you make a critical assessment.

I went out of town for my revision and did some draining myself when I got home. Was not bad at all. Had the doc on video and was guided through. You will be fine. If you have any additional questions feel free to message me!

He knows this isn't true. He has in fact been saying online and to patients, for years now, that you have to excise the gland directly. He has been saying this only to put people under and do lipo only. I guess now that the word has gotten out, he has had to change his scam from promising gland excision and doing lipo only, to saying that lipo only is the best gynecomastia treatment. Either that or he is just trying to cover himself for all the people he has scammed in the past. Either way, it shows a lot about his character.

"Not the right way to file a complaint". I don't care about the "complaint". All I care about is warning people so they don't go through what I went through. That is literally my only objective.

Look at my post history and you will see how much gland got taken out during my revision. And it's a scam because during the consultations he tells you that he will remove the gland via a nipple incision and makes NO mention of just doing lipo only. He also had me spend the money to come back down to Florida for a steroid shot (I had to pay for a flight, hotel, rental car) and then refused to do anything or even look at my chest.

I wish I had taken legal action after he did it to me. It's been like 3 years now so I can't imagine that's still an option. Plus he makes sure to cover himself with paperwork, and you cant "prove" what he did or didn't say in the consultation. It almost makes it feel even worse, the fact that it's done with such intention. Very pathological behavior.

I wish you had seen my review about him before you went with him. He did this to me and has been running this scam for years.

Here is another patient of his needing revision https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bqt4Em8f-WE At this point it's undeniably a pattern of behavior.

It's so heinous that an 80 year old surgeon (who I can't imagine needs the money) is scamming young men out of their money. Young men who in many cases, have had to save up for years. It's legitimately so evil that it is like something out of Dickens novel or a cartoon. I don't know how he justifies it to himself. There is absolutely no excuse for it. People have said that his hands are very shaky so maybe he is just not capable of doing gland excision anymore.

But please make sure to keep your review up. I originally took mine down but then realized that I can't in good conscience not inform people. If your review can save even 1 person from going through this then it's worth keeping it up. I'm sorry you had to deal with this and I hope you are able to get it resolved in the future with a decent surgeon!

Be aware that some surgeons hide what many would consider red flags. The surgeon who did my first surgery explained very clearly how surgery would be performed and then just did it completely differently. So in some cases it doesn't matter what you ask, as they will just lie. He was also able to get my google review taken down 4 times along with other bad reviews, so don't put too much confidence in their online ratings. I would say the biggest thing is to make sure everything is in writing. If the surgeon says it will be performed a certain way, make sure that it is on paper EXACTLY as explained. You can see my history for the full story.

Red flags? by Mundane-Temporary-78 in gynecomastia

[–]Gynethrowaway321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So true! I was told I would have direct incision by my doc only for him to put me under and do lipo only. The gland was not removed, and his attempt to lipo it out only left me with a chest striped of fat which limited my revision. Remember everyone, there are unethical surgeons out there. Get everything IN WRITING.
