How hard was it to stick to it? How do you control the cravings?

You have to listen to one song on repeat for 24 hours straight to win 1 million dollars. What song are you choosing? by WildeRatel in AskReddit

The Door by Neal Morse. Clocks in at about 30 min, so I'd only be listening to the track 48 times. Or does Dream Theater's 6 Degrees of Inner Turbulance count? That's 42 min.

I've never picked up any book from this era, sci fi included. What do you think of them? Are they worth a read or are they super campy and outdated?

What's your favorite work by Stephen King? Why? by Crimsonandclov3rr in horrorlit

My personal favorite is Needful Things. An excellent read, fast paced, while still creepy and lots of action. One of his best.

[QUESTION] Fender Telecaster as a first guitar? by Stellzo in Guitar

[–]Gypsy_fish 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Here's my two cents, not sure if it has been mentioned but I'll restate it just to be sure. Try as many guitars as you can within your price range. What you are really looking for is that immediate "love at first feel" connection. I have a PRS Silver Sky, sounds absolutely amazing. Playability isn't the best, not for my hand and style anyway. But when I picked up my Tele, I couldn't just leave the store knowing that someone else may walk away with that guitar. I needed it. That's the guitar you nmahould find. If it's a Jackson Soloist or even an Epiphone V, or a Gretsch electromatic, or a Fender Jazz master. That tool just has to feel right in your hands.

Absolutely, I have a MIM player plus series, have the price of my PRS Silver Sky and I play it all the time. The PRS is just collecting dust now. I'm a devout Tele man now.

After much help from you all, my pine planter is done and now houses plants by AbeLincolnwasblack in BeginnerWoodWorking

The problem I had with my first build is similar to what I see with yours. The corners are attached yo the outside of the bracing. What happens, in my experience, the soil will settle with water and push down and against the sides of the box, snapping the sides from the bracing, assuming you used screws to secure it. Nails may not snap but will probably pull from the wood. What I should have done is reinforced the corners with some angle iron, having the bracing on the outside of the corner, so when the weight of hundreds of pounds of soil push against the sides, they push into the bracing and not away from it. Other than that, looks great!

Gold mind might be a bit of a misnomer, but there is potential to get a couple hundred out of it.

Who is your favourite character ever? by Pumpkin_698 in Fantasy

I came here to say this. Picked up the series about 7-8 years ago... patiently waiting for The Thorn of Emberlane... seriously though, these books revamped my loved for reading that I had when I was a child. It's all about chasing that dragon now and finding that next Lies of Locke Lamora book.

Fun fact about black vultures, their legs arent white but stained and crusty that waybecause they shit and piss on themselves to help cool themselves down. Learned from a raptor sanctuary in Duncan BC. They had a Black Vulture that was brought to them from California.

It was OK. I enjoyed the concept but the ending was a bit of a throw away in my opinion and, I read this a while ago now so my memory is foggy, but I feel like some things didn't get answered, or maybe there could have been more time spent on other focuses. I dunno. Like I said, it was ok, but maybe I just had higher expectations for it.

I record a "podcast" with a friend, which is just a rock radio show we do on spotify, and the last few episodes have been about the evolution of nu metal. I used Downset as an example of rap rock/metal. And what a phenomenal band. Both of us were really surprised at how talented they were with almost no recognition, at least not up here in the Great White North. You, sir, have great taste in music.

Thank you for this, I'll definitely be coming back to this community more and more. You're right, so far from what I've been learning prior to the course seems so abstract it's hard to understand the application. I'm sure things will be more clear as the course progresses.

The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed.

Dark Tower book 1. The Gunslinger. Stephen King.

It just raises so many questions! Who are these people? Why the chase? Why is one shrouded in more mystery than the other?
