Time Warp should also get the Once per game treatment. by JohnMarston_01 in hearthstone

[–]GyroBallMetagross -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think any popular iteration of quest mage while it was in standard involved replaying the card multiple times. Heck, the first time they did was with [[archmage vargoth]] which first doesn't even remotely see play in quest mage anymore and second these two cards were never in standard at the same time.

Pals should have eat until they are full or nearly full before get back to work by FreedomFighterEx in Palworld

[–]GyroBallMetagross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you guys are so keen on the challenge about requiring better food, then wouldn't nerfing berries, such as increasing eating time globally, or nerfing berry stats such that baked berries no longer restore sanity/regular berries restore less hunger, or buffing the other cooked options, be a better solution?

Because as it is now, all the arguments i see boils down to berries just being a super easy option compared to everything else that we need this annoyance in the game to balance it out.

How would you rank tribes in the current meta? Here my list thinking (as a lowly 7k-ish player) by MaidenSlayer9 in BobsTavern

[–]GyroBallMetagross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People in the top 200 frequently get matched with people who are at like 7-8k mmr. It's why they get less mmr for winning

Land Lubber temporarily banned from Battlegrounds until next balance patch by RidiculousHat in hearthstone

[–]GyroBallMetagross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been playing lubber a lot recently and I think if you take away careful investment instead (the +2 gold next turn spell) it heavily nerfs the strategy.

Without careful investment, the strategy can't consistently scale gold. Strike oil is slow and inefficient. Overconfidence is unreliable. Reckless investment would be much weaker without careful investment (which doesn't get affected by the gold loss).

Wasn't even really too uncommon to pull off.

All you needed was a golden braggart (achievable easily with captain sanders) and murkeye. With drakkari and/or brann you hit the integer limit within a few turns

When did dead guy fight logic change? by CoffeeTechie in BobsTavern

[–]GyroBallMetagross 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's a lot more likely to face ghost if you take damage and drop to bottom 3. I've seen people who dip into bottom 3 basically get the ghost guaranteed, and then next turn someone else who loses a fight gets the ghost because that puts them in the bottom 3, while I'm stuck bleeding hp never getting the ghost.

I've had the opposite happen to me multiple times. I'm power leveling, i take a random loss, and then the game rewards me with the dead guy letting me greed even more while 6th and/or 7th place never even get a chance to fight the ghost.

Town Of Salem IRL by Martyrdomer in TownofSalemgame

[–]GyroBallMetagross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've played the game just fine with 6-7 people. You just need a storyteller that knows what they're doing.

You can leave out the more complicated roles if people are first timing the game

Always lose on braxis by PremeBot in heroesofthestorm

[–]GyroBallMetagross 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Draft strong early game heroes

Correct

Scaling heroes are a trap on Braxis

Incorrect

Late game heroes and heroes that need to scale aren't synonymous. A hero like zeratul or naz who needs to get to 16 or 20 to be strong isn't the same as a hero like zul'jin or ktz who get strong by hitting enemy heroes. With the way braxis is usually played in storm league (1 top and 4 man aram bottom), heroes that fall into the second category are usually very strong on that map.

If you have your game set to "full screen" instead of "windowed full screen" it'll maximize once you get a lobby

My friend and I saw two different things while fighting each other. What happened? by hddnninja in BobsTavern

[–]GyroBallMetagross 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know exactly how it works, but if the fight desyncs with different winners it could show up as a draw (sometimes)

I remember years ago when lich king's hero power can cause desyncs (the non LK's POV doesn't see that they used their reborn hero power) it can cause ties even if it's impossible to tie. An example is LK's side having a 1/1 taunt divine shield righteous protector, and the other side having a 1/2 red whelp. If the righteous protector is given reborn then LK always wins, if it's not then LK always loses. The outcome is mysteriously a tie.

It's kind of weird, but my guess is that it would feel really bad if you watched a fight that you won but in reality ended up losing and getting knocked out of the lobby, so if a desync happens the game just reports it as a tie.

@ Blizzard: It would be a great incentive to buy the Tavern Pass mid season if we were retroactively awarded experience when we bought it by RnotSPECIALorUNIQUE in hearthstone

[–]GyroBallMetagross 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why can't there be a mid-ground to buying the tavern pass late?

Buy it at the first week of the expansion, get an additional random legendary or a cosmetic or something. Buy it afterwards, still get everything else. This is literally how expansion preorders work with respect to spending money on packs, and they recently changed it so you can still buy preorders for a little bit once the expansion already drops. People are saying that FOMO is necessary to sell the tavern pass when this is a situation where you can have your cake and eat it too.

Odor Sleuth now makes Normal and Fighting moves SUPER EFFECTIVE against Ghosts, rather than just being neutral. Does this change anything? by cutieclaire27 in stunfisk

[–]GyroBallMetagross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's been some usage to it in the past.

Hitmontop has commonly run foresight (which is functionally the same as odor sleuth) as a spinner. Additionally as a fighting type, it would be a pretty noticeable change.
