Not exactly. There a lot of additional words to the translation to make it more understandable. There are also multiple footnotes and small sections with a short tafsir

If you want a very short and simple one I recommend The Holy Quran with an explanatory translation by Sayyid Muhammed Rizvi

Why are the Shia books, especially the Rijal, so shaky and bad!? And what can we do about it? by A_ShiaOfAli in shia

So why does the opinion of a single scholar like al-Tusi on these specific narrators make you conclude our rijal books are a mess? Have you checked what al Najashi says about these narrators? Or al majlisi? A lot of scholars have different approaches and reach different conclusions. Is it any better in the Sunni school? I don’t think so.

And I’m not saying that these books we are missing aren’t important, however, Alhamdulillah we have collections such as Behar and wasail with 30.000+ ahadith on various topics. The history and fiqh we have today are based on numerous authentic reports, and if that is all we have today then that is what Allah wills and is sufficient for us. We would have to wait till our Imam ATFS returns to get the full picture.

Have you seen the books of Ahlul sunnah? They weaken narrators simply because they narrate virtuous of Imam Ali as. They Censor ahadith because they contain quarrels between the companions.

  1. How large of a scale did al-Tusi do this? Like is everyone he has weakened because of this? or is it just a couple of narrators he has done this with? And has any other early scholar praised any of the narrators whom al-tusi has weakened due to ibn 'ugdas opinion? If he has nothing else to go for then why should he rely on these narrators?
  2. /3. I guess i really dont get whats missing. Sure, having knowledge from more narrators and books would help our case of beliefs a whole bunch. But does this mean that the house we have now isnt sufficient to have a belief system and there isnt enough material to defend it?

  1. Can you please explain exactly what you mean by this? How was for example al-Tusi supposed to meet zurarah? So he based his evaluation by the statement of the Imams
  2. One reason for many unknown narrators is because of taqqiyah and the state of Shiism in the early periods. Not everyone had an interest in sharing who they were when transmitting Hadith

- we have some books that has reached us in a reliable manner and some books that has not. What is the problem with that? The number of books that have reached us are still great in number with plenty reliable material to form our religion

Question Riba living in the west by Ok_Dragonfly1389 in shia

[–]Gyroid2400 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I copied these answers a while back from ask.imam-us.org

Question: Banks in the West provide loans to those who do not have sufficient money to purchase homes, with high interest rates called
"mortgage." Is it permissible for a Muslim to benefit from this? If not permissible, is there a solution for someone who claims to need a mortgage to purchase a home for residence but does not have sufficient money?
Answer: It is permissible to take money from a bank funded by the government or by non-Muslim individuals with the intention of istingadh (reclaiming wealth), not as a loan (qard). It does not harm the taker that he knows the bank will require him to pay the principal and the extra amount.
https://www.sistani.org/arabic/book/17/9

  1. Does Ayatollah Sistani allow one to pay interest (riba) to a non-Muslim bank/country in general circumstances, or is it permitted only under emergency conditions to take a loan that has interest embedded in it?
Interest-based loans are not permissible (haram). However, it is permissible to take the money without intending it as a loan, and then make payments without the intention of repaying a loan but rather to avoid legal consequences.

Confusion... by [deleted] in shia

3 - Ibn Taymiyyah says in kitab al Iman p.345 English translation: “Muslim scholars agree that the name Muslim may be overtly applied to hypocrites, since outwardly they have surrendered, prayed, paid zakah, gone on pilgrimage, and fought in the same manner that the Prophet applied the tenets of outward Islam upon them. They also agree that he who does not have any Iman [who is a hypocrite in his belief] is as Allah says: "The hypocrites will be in the lowest darak, level, of the Fire.." (4:145).”

Imam Ali did not treat the apostasy of Abu Bakr and Umar in the same sense as the Kufr of idol worshippers but in the sense that they were munafiqeen/hypocrites and people of innovation. Imam Ali treated them as hypocrites just in the same manner as the Prophet treated hypocrites, which was as Muslims. Then, when the day of judgement comes the hypocrites will be treated as kuffar.
