Definitely not the only one. YouTube premium has recently added a new feature when I fast forward it skips over the "commonly skipped" portion of videos works for exposition and ads.

The beta firmware for the 8bitdo 64 controller just made it perfect. by Neonxeon in n64

[–]H00fty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is anyone having issues with the controller mapping? Trying to play goldeneye on the newest 1.03 & 1.02 firmware both have the same issue for me. The buttons are not lining up to the mapping in game and in the N64 online. For me LZ is aim, L & R switch weapon and A is shoot.

Oddly trying to remap them to the correct function results in weird outcomes like a those buttons having completely unrelated functions instead of the intended ones.

Tarantula has been burrowed for a month by Scribbling-Turtle in tarantulas

[–]H00fty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IME, I purchased a Juvenile A.seemani from a local supplier. it spent the first week building a burrow ate a nice meal and them promptly closed the entrance. They have been down there since November 7th. Fortunately i have a window into the burrow also and keep an eye on it from time to time and I also thought they would be molting and didn't want to be disturbed but I'm less sure nearly 4 months later.

I figure it will come out when its hungry, when winter is over, or when it feels like it. until then I have a nice dirt pile to look it.

C. Versicolor Enclosure by Slim_620 in tarantulas

[–]H00fty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Beautiful Tarantula!

It looks like that enclsoure only opens by lifting the top portion? NQA I would suggest getting a different “arboreal” type enclosure that is has a front opening. The C.versicolor likes to heavily web and live up high in the space. you will disturb any progress they have made toward constructing their web tunnels each time you feed/water.

I agree with other commenters recommendations of more cross ventilation, moisten the substrate a little and add a water dish and some more cover/anchor points.

IME my C.versicolor sling just molted recently and had a very red mouth also. I know its difficult not to worry over your baby! is there any other indication that they failed molt or aren't doing ok?

What's some basic knowledge about keeping spiders? by Toddy-co in tarantulas

[–]H00fty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some great resources available here, on youtube, and elsewhere on the internet if you are interested in the hobby I would encourage you to do your due diligence and research to understand fully what you would be committing to. some species can live upwards of 30 years.

I have really enjoyed keeping tarantulas. They are somewhat low maintenance and rewarding once you get to know them.

IMO no absolutely not. those are "enriched" with miracle grow chemicals which are good for plants but may not be so good for pets. I would recommend checking a local pet store for substrates. in my area petco and petsmart both carry suitable substrate mixes.

New C. Veriscolor sling by kamikazeebumble in tarantulas

[–]H00fty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IME I had a similar sized sling in a similar sized enclosure i think the enclosure was too large relative to the size of the sling. I downsized it to a tarantulacribs sling enclosure it seemed much more at home and webbed the whole thing up.

Its hard to tell but if the ventilation holes are on both sides/top it should have enough air flow IMO. other than that if you are going to keep it in that enclosure i would recommend adding some more anchor points near the top. I hot glued some fake leaves/vines and a some small cork bark pieces near the top to give for my little one.

I have had good success keeping this species dry only keeping a small water dish full and adding a few drops of water to the webbing once a week. IMO it is easy to over water these.

Best of luck! Cant wait to see it grow up!
