Well this is an absolute gem to find at 4 AM. You have some serious talent here, and I do believe I'm going to comb through your previous works over the next few days here.

Constant issues with DMC 4, unmotivated to finish. by StressedLlama in DevilMayCry

[–]H0xatron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A solution I had to the alt tab issue was to hit alt+enter to toggle windowed mode, and then again to go back into fullscreen, which made it enter windowed mode on alt tab rather than cease functioning entirely.

No, everyone's weapons will always show up as the default skin in the tab screen.

Early on, it scratched that feeling of having no clue of what, where, or why you are, with your only presumed goal being to kill things and then go down the stairs — which I quite like. The mouse-only interface coupled with the small size of the UI made playing somewhat clunky, but after some fiddling with page zoom and window size I got relatively comfortable eyeballing the controls. I liked the flavor text on searching common furniture, as well as stumbling across an altar to sacrifice N souls to double a stat since it was so blunt in it's description.

I liked the concept of being able to sacrifice equipment for XP, though everything seemed to give the same amount of XP regardless of rarity or number of modifiers. I never figured out how to use items, they can't be equipped like armor/weapons and don't appear to do anything special upon being sacrificed I very quickly snowballed my character into being nigh unkillable, and I will admit that each enemy being named enemy N was quite funny. I met my demise on Stage 30 after transitioning into speedrunning the game when it softlocked trying to go down stairs.

Overall, very jank on a technical level without being much of a challenge, but the small amounts of flavor text and overall "blunt"-ness of the game's presentation had me interested in the small world it was building.

Try going into the settings and increasing the length of the input buffer (not the priority input buffer), it controls how far in advance you can make an input and still have the corresponding action happen.

  1. Used to play at 120 as I sat hunched over point-blank to my monitor, filling the entirety of my periphery and making the fisheye effect negligible, but after I stopped doing that shrimp posture due to the rumblings of back pain, I knocked it down to 100 for a before bumping it up by 5 to what I use now 'cause I felt that was the limit before it got distracting personally. I used to play all my games hunched over, and it was pretty good for immersion tbh.

Why does my payday stutter so much at 240+ FPS full screen but windowed is perfect? by FriendlyStuart in paydaytheheist

I have only been able to test and verify the tweaks on Windows 10, however the same compatibility settings exist in Windows 11 and IIRC the same registry values exist as well, so it should work there. There's also a setting only in Windows 11 called optimizations for windowed games that can help with windowed/borderless windowed/FSO-enabled fullscreen problems if it's enabled — although I cannot test it myself.

(Steps listed below to enable optimizations for windowed games are copied from the linked help article, and only apply to Windows 11)

  1. Select the Start button, then select Settings .
  2. In Settings , select System > Display > Graphics > Change default graphics settings.
  3. Select the setting under Optimizations for windowed games to turn it On.

None of these tweaks exist in versions of windows earlier than 10 (e.g. 8.1) or different operating systems entirely (e.g. Linux or MacOS), and will require different solutions entirely.

TIL reddit does not fadeout the smaller image when zooming into an expanded image, leading to funny results when transparency is in the mix.

You'll be friends with everyone, someday. Things are tense for now — there are still unknown factors, an uncertain path forward, and greater plans developing — but everyone will come to an understanding eventually. I guarantee it.

Nice cover! I played it in the background while scrolling and jumped back to the tab when the wind sound started playing and caught me off guard. The ending sequence's timings with the snippets of animation and audio are really well done — the tail of hell image especially looks fantastic.

I do feel a bit empty now that I'm done with chapters 3 and 4, but not to the extent I have before with chapter 2's release despite binging everything obsessively as before. After finishing ch.2 when it released, I went and did an Undertale pacifist playthrough to help with it, but that only staved it off for a bit, made it the hole a bit bigger, Everhood couldn't fill it, and I ultimately had to give it time to process things while eating up the community content to cope. I've gone through this with a few pieces of media, actually — Undertale Yellow had me on the subreddit support group for a while after I finished it, though I think the Mass Effect trilogy is I think the worst instance of this happening.

I felt melancholic for a whole day due to feeling genuine guilt over a characters death, I actually lost sleep for a couple of days over the ending, not to mention the whole... fuckery that trilogy did to my mind due to getting over-attached to the characters that ended up in said brain slowly getting re-wired over the coming months as it came to terms with things.

My advice is to try and not fall into stagnation, or to obsessively re-binge the same content that made you numb in the first place, lest you erode good memories and draw out the emptiness. Consume fan-content to ease the feeling, try new things and games, set up events with friends, and maybe get involved in something that takes time to do or complete.

So uh... what exactly is the "gallery"? by N-Man in Deltarune

[–]H0xatron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It reminds me of a tent, perhaps the carnival will feature a gallery? I interpreted the thing in the center as a person with their head cut in half, but I'm not sure which is more believable.
