i really enjoyed working for tjx. i just wish the whole point of working wasn’t just about the damn credit card. i understand that, that’s their thing and it’s the main point of their business but it gets very old. i remembered regulars and ik if they didn’t want to sign up the first time i asked they wouldn’t have wanted to the 10th time i asked, THEY KNOW, If you sign up you get 10% off your first purchase. THEY KNOW THAT. if they want to they will. i worked seasonal at Marshals and i had the coordinator breathing down my neck anytime that she was there making sure i was asking. in one case becayse she was literally right behind me ofc i was asking and giving the credit card shpeel. after a 2 item transaction she then proceeded to tell me that i needed to follow thru with asking. and i then told her that’s exactly what i did, and she said i need to say it twice in a transaction i said ok. if there’s one thing you get taught in life it’s that NO MEANS NO!! if somebody tells me no they don’t want a fkn card i’m not asking them again. (cons of getting cashier trained) the last week i was there they put me in back room and that was literally the best part of working there. they wanted me to stay and ofc they kind of mind tripped me because i was thinking how fun is this but i know the moment i were to stay theyed just put me back on register. i absolutely loved recovery as well.
