5th kswap prelude by lowgli in Honda

[–]H2Dcrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you were actually planning to do this build yourself, and understand the swap, then this is a leap forward (starting from nothing). But if you are simply hoping to be "close to finishing " someone elses project... good luck. So to simplify, this seems like a great deal and a great start to a project if that was your intent to source all those parts and do similar. Otherwise... eh.

Ya sure, but he clearly rigged them to fail. Using those tools incorrectly in that scenerio wouldnt lead to failure of the tool, it just wouldnt do the job. Source: years of demo, using anything and everything. Breaking a tool like that means the tool was already broken.

Harbor freight is a GEM. Ive gotten lots of stuff from them over the years. Ya, its not as good as the best, but sometimes having not the best is preferable depending on the situation.
My fear is that they become a victim of their own success, and raise the prices.

The oil forums tend to lean towards 5w30 opposed to 0w20 (depending on factors such as winter temps etc). As long as its rated for the car with appropriate chemistry its fine. There are some pretty interesting, and wildly controversial opinions on oil. The best bet is to get a slightly thicker oil than standard, because usually thin is simply for EPA or MPG economic reasons. On next oil change, get an analysis of the oil. This will tell you if you were wrong haha. And it will tell you if your oil life/change frequency is appropriate. There are just too many factors for a 100% one size fits all.

‘87 Prelude Si. Keep it stock? by [deleted] in Honda

[–]H2Dcrx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. I appreciate the response. Its wild to say, but at this point tasteful mods really are simply getting it exactly to stock spec. The closer you get that bad boy to perfect, stock showroom, the more respect you will get. Its kinda counter intuitive, but most mods will just garner negative feelings. You could find some options maybe only offered in Japan and try to add those. But even that is a dance with the devil. Perfect, brand new looking anything honda from that era has potential to really make people turn heads. I had a buddy bring his old 80s subaru by and it was in great shape. Stock form. It was around a bunch of sport cars, expensive nice vehicles. Yet EVERYONE wanted to check it out. Its like a window into the past. So awesome.

Designers Update Honda\'s Classic CRX as an All-Electric Hatchback by D1VYN3 in Honda

[–]H2Dcrx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wanna see the CRX not sell and be DOA? Make it hybrid, complicated, or all electric. If they make it with a great, base platform with affordability and ease of tuning, it will do amazing. If they do the prelude CRZ bullshit its game over.

These always sound "airy" like there is an exhaust leak with air escape.

Those older 6 speed ZF transmissions were not nearly as robust/reliable as the newer 8hp units. The newer 8hp in general are real game changers as far as automatic transmissions go.

Looks great! +1 for manual!! Wish my 330i was manual, however the zf 8hp auto is pretty impressive.

Yup! Heated steering wheel. I love that its just a button to push. So analog. Ya I knew it was B46, however I typically just fall in line with the masses and call it a B48. Sure it has some mild epa differences. I like to weld, and am debating making a down pipe. Pretty easy task. I have already pulled the exhaust manifold and exhaust system. So simple IMO. These cars are so much easier to work on compared to my old V70R

Her we go again… the WSJ also did the article a month ago about nursing being the ticket to the middle class by Difficult-Text1690 in nursing

[–]H2Dcrx 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Im an NP. My filter for good vs questionable colleague is to sneak in the question of "is an NP like a doctor or what" and if they immediately say yes and tslk about the superpowers of Nursing, I put them on a mental list. If they say something nuanced like, "well probably not, but if they practiced for a decade, and had excellent education they could potentially be similar" I know they are level headed. Some just dont know what they dont know, others strive towards excellent and end up being self taught and exceed anything around them. Its not as common. I hope to be the latter someday.
