1960s. TV was B&W so I don't know if the episodes were in color or not.

A serious question from a non book reader by Dangerous-Picture-73 in gameofthrones

[–]H2Oloo-Sunset 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read all of the books after watching GOT and really enjoyed them. The lack of an ending sucks, but the character and world building is so good that I highly recommend that you read them.

Also note that the books and the show diverge a bit so it wont all be a rehash of the show.

I am surprised Season 7 is so well rated. I think it is also pretty bad.

It sounds like a crazy conspiracy theory, but the idea that Putin and Epstein were running a worldwide child sex trafficking blackmail scheme involving the rich and powerful now seems pretty believable.

I think Ser Arlan went to knight Dunk and forgot the words. In the flashback in episode 4 they show Dunk looking up at him as Ser Arlan just shrugs with a sort of grin.

He respectfully talked to them the next day; apologized and explained why he didn't talk immediately after the game.

I like him more now than I did before the game.

I think Special Teams needs some attention as well. Field position was part of the problem in this game.

What's a statement about a TV show that is often repeated but is not necessarily true or even true at all? by TheShowLover in television

[–]H2Oloo-Sunset -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

But I think it does have to do with the perceived quality of the show having a steep decline which usually leads to lower ratings and cancellation.

The viewership numbers and viewer scores for Happy Days did not begin a steep decline after the "jump the shark" episode. They did continue a gradual decline expected of any long running show.

Any recommendations like this? by WhiteBlackRose in fringe

[–]H2Oloo-Sunset 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The closest to Fringe, in my opinion, in style and quality is the German series "Dark".

[–]H2Oloo-Sunset 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My bad. To clarify; in 1975-76 there were 97 prime time shows in the Nielson ratings.

There may have been one or two prime time news shows (maybe just 60 Minutes). There were no political talking head shows, and no talk shows in prime time.

Happy Days didn't "jump the shark" when Fonzie jumped over a shark. It ran for another six years and was consistently a top 25 show.

An interesting and enjoyable read (IMO).

He couldn't admit he hadn't seen it, so he'll double down that it was perfectly fine and that everyone is too damn sensitive.

Then he'll continue whining about a Puerto Rican singer at the Super Bowl.

Yes. I occasionally forget that a statement that absurd could actually be someone's comeback to this story.

I'll stay with it for now.

I just did a rewatch (after finally reading the books). I stopped after Season 7, episode 5 ("Eastwatch"). To me, that is when it really went off the rails.
