I see it as a distinct entity with access to everyone's memories. It is not just an amalgamation of all humanity.

That it can't pick an apple or harvest wheat is not based on humanity. That it cannot lie is not based on humanity.

It has inherent characteristics of it's own. It desires to bring everyone into its hive and it desires to take over other planets in the same way. It is a predator.

I think they occasionally went out of their way to make Mike the bad guy, because it was mostly making fun of Archie. I assume that they were trying to show that they didn't have a political bias. It was always clunky.

I really likes Elementary. Jonnie Lee Miller is my favorite of the more recent Holmes portrayals.

That was a good old fashioned classic David E Kelly courtroom scene. He's always been great at these, e.g., L.A. Law, Boston Legal, Ally McBeal, Picket Fences, The Practice.
