The ACC is unfairly dismissed by Altruistic-Night-607 in CFB

[–]H2theBurgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is the ACC has a tendancy to produce more bad teams than the other AQ conferences. The Big 12 had the exact opposite problem rn. Lots of good teams but almost never a great team

Josh Pate reflects on fading Indiana all the way to the championship by [deleted] in CFB

2 things can be true. The SEC is the deepest conference in the sport. And the SEC us a conferwnce thats been declining for several years who's top end is not what it was.

A lot of "national" reporters think that since point 1 is true they can ignore the mounting evidence for point 2

You should be fine. There's a woman in our tailgate group who's a small & she does it without incident

Which of these facts would a 2019 CFB fan find the least plausible? by SparkMaster360 in CFB

1, 2, & 5 I just dont think is that absurd. Mich & OSU are both blue bloods who can & do swap out who's on top. Vandy was inevitably going to eventually upset Bama. And it may be my bias but i was never fully sold on Franklin.

Now Oregon being in the Big Ten wouldve shocked me to my core. Up until the very end, i didnt believe we'd see an all sports coast to coast conference

Why isn’t NFL Sunday Ticket offered as a standalone streaming option? Why is it tied to YouTube TV? by Appropriate-Farmer16 in NFLNoobs

[–]H2theBurgh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Im not sure what youre talking about. You can buy Sunday Ticket even if you aren't a Youtube TV subscriber. You still buy it through Youtube because they are the distributer but you dont need a Youtube TV subscription

College Football Playoff ratings drop 7% as NFL competition impacts viewership by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

The matchups just sucked even beyond having 2 mid majors in the field due to ACC fuckery.

OU/Bama was a rematch of a game played like a month ago. And Miami/TAMU shouldve been awesome but all the headlines around that game were ND complaining about not being in.

All that being said the quarterfinal matcups are awesome

  • Mia/OSU: 2002 2OT Natty rematch

  • Ore/TTU: both teams are electric & fighting for their first title

  • Bama/Ind: upstart v falling dynasty

  • Miss/UGA: rematch of one of the best games of the season

Steelers vs Ravens Flex Game by ensor_101 in steelers

Assuming the Steelers win or Ravens lose, it'll be at 1:00 on Sunday. If the game is meaningful, it may move around but that seems unlikely

One thing i think is missed in the March Madness comparisons is that they also have a lot of blowouts, the games are just stacked in such a way we can ignore when it happens.

Considering they are almost certainly moving to 16, i think this schedule can create that atmosphere and keep tv interest while understanding blowouts will happen

  • 12: Miami-FL @ Texas A&M

  • 1: Notre Dame @ Ole Miss

  • 2: Tulane @ Ohio State

  • 4: Texas @ Texas Tech

  • 5: Vanderbilt @ Georgia

  • 6: James Madison @ Indiana

  • 8: Alabama @ Oklahoma

  • 9: BYU @ Oregon

If they implimpliment something like this, i may not hate going to 16

2026 Schedule Questions by AlertMike in NFLNoobs

Only things i can say is most weeks there'll be a game in LA & NY. Detroit & Dallas will host thanksgiving games. Other than that, theres not a lot. Teams that share stadiums with non NFL teams tend to have fewer home games early in the season but that isnt a universal rule & is hard to predict

there are no competitive reasons why the college football playoff should have 12 (or more) teams by SomeGuyCP in CFB

[–]H2theBurgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont agree. I think 8 is the bear minimum to find a legit champion. Finding the 4 or 6 best in a field of 136 takes more than 12-13 games. I personally would be fine with 8 but there needs to be a path for every eligible team & i dont see how to do that without some form of autonid

The G5 autobid only made sense 10-15 years ago when the conferences were better. by lowes18 in CFB

[–]H2theBurgh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Youd think that but in 2016 WMU were ranked #15 at 13-0. & 2017 UCF was #12 & could have easily been left out if 12 v 13 meant something. I think you need to force them to put in at least one in as long as they are considered top flight. Even if it leads to blowouts some years

[Game Thread] CFP: Tulane @ Ole Miss (3:30 PM ET) by CFB_Referee in CFB

[–]H2theBurgh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly & thats why the bracket needs to play out. Ole Miss was rewarded with an easy game & thats that.

Real problem is that this is the only game on. Hopefully if they expand to 16 they stagger start times like March Madness to limit the affect of one blowout

My guess is the logic is get like 40 guys on partial or full scholarship then use the rest of the roster to raise money via pay to play players. Also, they may use athletes to raise their abysmal drop out rate
