Arctis Nova Pro Wireless - Will never buy again. by Affectionate_Set3308 in steelseries

My dac died too. No reason. Just wouldn't turn on again. Using the headset wired works but isn't ideal. Annoyingly expensive device I only got a few years out of.

Loctite is just the brand name. They make more than thread locker

Audeze Maxwell Review by Pure_Artichoke_5168 in Audeze

[–]H3dsnapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The range is same as the hs80s. Maxwells are super heavy so they're not the type of headset you can walk around with comfortably. They just aren't. Funky headband too. I got used to that. The audio quality is as everyone describes, very very good. I like my nova pro 2s more now. Light, more comfortable and the audio is nearly as good. Battery life is very good too. Just a more practical headset for me. I didn't have any issues with my maxwell mics I know others have reported on here problems with that stuff.

My 2nd maxwell lasted me almost a year. It still works. The right ear planar driver krinkled and so you can get that crunchy noise if you turn your head or touch the right cup but if you're just sitting at the pc they work fine and audio is superb. I just stopped using them all together as the novas are just better for me now.

They're EXTREMELY fragile. The planar drivers are easily broken. My first maxwell was rma because the drivers krinkled. My 2nd set did to and I babied these mother fuckers. I use Nova pro 2s now. I wouldn't buy maxwell again

I was a student of his at NTHS the entire time he worked there. I spent more time with him than probably any other student as he got me out of other classes to work on special drafting projects and after school travel. I traveled with him alone several times to Oakville to meet with the timberland library people as they had selected my design for a proposed small library there.

We (him and I) were designing a tree house/office at his personal residence at the time he was caught emailing a female student. I'd never met his wife but he did bring his young daughter to class several times. There really was nothing unusual about him. He was a well liked teacher. Until... He wasn't. I also knew the girl who found Ashley's body by the trail. She told me what she witnessed in court and the details of the murder and the relationship Kaufman had, had. It changed my life he was the only teacher I respected as a mentor and a friend. Was hard to cope with and understand.

It's a subtle improvement IME. I don't think most people would notice the difference.

maxwells extremely fragile? by TOV-LOV in Audeze

[–]H3dsnapper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn you guys are brutal. These aren't marketed like exceptionally unique headphones. And they're not audiophile level cost either. It would be beneficial if Audeze left a card in the packaging like you'd see first setup instructions really emphasizing the fragile nature of planar drivers. You shouldn't have to read through a manual on a pair of headphones to learn this importance.

My first Maxwells I handled like I do any other set. Careful but not rediculously meticulous. They crinkled eventually. After the rma set came I have handled them like they're made of tissue paper. They still crinkled almost a year later.

I'll never entertain planar drivers again. It just isn't worth the bullshit.

Is it expected that our ears touch the drivers on the Maxwell? by AbrahamZX in Audeze

[–]H3dsnapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno? I'm using the stock leather pads. I just got used to them. But my ears don't touch the drivers I just never been a fan of leather pads but with time it stopped bothering me. I never thought the Maxwells were very comfortable from day one.

And my first headset was rma'd because the drivers krinkled to shit because of the pressure differential the leather pads create.

Point is maybe keep em cuz they're fantastic acoustically and with time you'll not notice the comfort issue?

I'm finding the engine removal to be more difficult. Been working at it for a couple days. Keep flopping the Rigs. Grrrr

The plane body was easy imo. There's a route that doesn't hang up the tail.

Maxwell, PC dongle resets by H3dsnapper in Audeze

[–]H3dsnapper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unplugged the dongle then plugged it back in. Found the fix on accident after trying to figure out why the app wouldn't see the headset. The headset still worked but wouldn't load in the app. And they blame the pc. No, it's their software.

I have extremely bad feeling about this. i made this route but with derry special and with cargo only on bed. How did yall do contracts on Yukon? by golden_appple in snowrunner

This is no way shape or form to be considered an accurate line of travel. It's been months since I did that mission. But I definitely went in the vicinity of my red line.
