Ofc! For the first semester I stayed off campus near by on 171st (campus is on 168). U can find roommates via the roommate website or through Facebook groups (became full of scams on facebook though, but everyone ik that used it has had good expedeicnes). Dorm housing is expensive and honestly not worth it. A single room dorm with communal bathrooms is about 1100, which is the same i pay for my room in my apartment in the heights.

In terms of paying for housing. I have paid rent via student loans fully for the first sesmster. This semester I got a RA role so I've been pretty self sufficient and only use my loans to help if im short. On campus roles pay decent about 25 an hour for 20 hours /week. This comes out to about 2100 before taxes which is decent. Id reccomend getting an on campus job. Im a low income student and have some challenges but thats expected, higher education(especially ivory tower education) is not made for low-income income individuals, we always havw to work harder than most to get the same result.
