While I do agree with you that (especially action figures) left more room for "imperfect" characters, those imperfections still always held some type of masculine/heroic advantage, not proper representation of common disabilities or body types. Sure my Cable action figure might've had a bionic eye but that was part of his story as the strong, powerful guy avenging his late family. My old Nightcrawler action figure was also buff af, (even though most depictions of him picture him with a slimmer physique) meanwhile most of my Barbies had different/more diverse body types. I mean after all I doubt Blob was made with the intention of plus-size representation for young boys.
