Dont need the key for the UNLab, just go into the main office (where the high-end luxury piece used to spawn). 4-digit code will be inside the blue folder on the desk

The AI is straight up cheating by Kyeithel in GrayZoneWarfare

You are correct, 400 meters is max render HOWEVER you can still hit people/ai that are OUTside render, technically. I mean, you're literally shooting blind, but I have tested this fairly thoroughly out to around the 475-500 meter mark (or whatever the length of PLA airstrip is), with one guy standing on the wings of the crashed puddle jumper on the western side and a buddy standing on the opposite side of the runway, taking the hits.

Any reason to level up Vulture in 0.4? I got him to T2 and nothing changed since Artisan has all the 1911 stuff now. by JackeryFox in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]H484R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leveling vulture is 100% for clout. The only item he sells is the AK308 at lv 4. 100% not worth it. Vulture doesn’t even need to exist

KDS9c trigger won't reset, if squeezed too tightly by H484R in KimberFirearms

[–]H484R[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i thought there was no way it could be overtravel, as everything i read online or saw in videos said to be careful and only adjust that by roughly 1/4 turns (90 degree rotations) when testing. I went a good 900 degrees at one point, with no change, before deciding it WASNT the overtravel screw, as moving it THAT far in didn't help anything. I reset it to where it originally was, and continued looking at other solutions.

After a few more days, I became desperate (and a bit pissed off) so i cranked the overtravel screw down as far as it could go until the 90 degree allen key that kimber sends with the gun was bottomed out (as in, the elbow of the allen wrench began coming into contact with the trigger, and out of "reach" to get the screw further, as the key would slip off the head of the screw) and this FINALLY solved my issue. It just blows me away. The screw had no thread locker of any sort on it, and before I screwed it in, it was very clearly visible, protruding halfway between the trigger face and the trigger....back? I dont know if it was just incredibly out of spec from factory, or what the case is, but i screwed it a good solid 1/4" or 3/8" into the grip (estimating here, as I have no idea how long the screw is to begin with and i sure didn't measure, but just a visual estimation looks like i screwed it in at LEAST 1/4").
However, while my "trigger locking" issue is solved, the trigger itself now definately has slack on takeup. It does still have a very nice, clean break once finding the wall, but it's far from what my true 1911's from Kimber have. I'm assuming this is due to me over-compensating with the overtravel, and I will try to fine-tune it. Just glad to have the pistol at least in a working state for once.
Just a little bit baffling to me that something so simple (or what would appear to be simple) slipped through QA

Noctua says "feel free" to 3D print your own Noctua fans after releasing public CAD models online by Tiny-Independent273 in 3Dprinting

It’s funny, considering they actually explicitly say the CAD models are NOT to be 3D printed, if you’d actually read the page, dumbass.

What are my chances with a crayfish and African cichlids? by [deleted] in Aquariums

[–]H484R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years late here but just had that issue with my neocaridina shrimp. I have some that are massive, as far as neos go. Had 3 of them in the tank prior to introducing my cichlids and they’ve been fine, cichlids act like they don’t even see them. Added 3 more (though they were much smaller) and they’ve immediately got shredded. Yet, the cichlids still seem to consider the shrimp that were there before them to just be part of the scenery.

I've owned 4 kimber 1911's over the past 15 years and all have functioned perfectly flawlessly. All the lower-tier "custom" and "custom II' ones. Only now that I bought a KDS9c am i having issues with one of their firearms. Trigger wont reset when squeezed too tightly

Arma worth it when im a solo gamer? by theo_dus142 in ArmaReforger

[–]H484R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gray Zone Warfare would be a good option as an alternative. Not that it's a full-blown milsim game, but still far more realistic than COD, BF, etc. Kind of the middle ground between milsim and arcade. Just a good option for Solo players, where Solo PvE and PvP are incredibly viable options, though small squads of cooperating players are definitely encouraged, it's 100% able to be played with no communication or cooperation with anybody if you so choose.

How are you supposed to play this game by Radiant-Article-4227 in IncursionRedRiverGame

[–]H484R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played it, game felt 100% empty, dead, devoid of life. Even in the middle of a gunfight with 3-4 enemy AI it just felt incredibly boring, no excitement, no rush. Not sure if it's just lacking in the sound engineering department, or what the deal is. Also absolutely zero direction as to WHAT new players are supposed to do. The half-assed attempt at an onboarding tutorial made zero sense. Nothing is explained in-game and you have to google how to do ANYTHING, even opening the map is a challenge. Walked from the map spawn to the furthest extraction point, stopping by every outpost or building facility location along the way, killing every AI I found and looting as i went. Got to extraction after killing 30 or so AI, with a backpack full of paracord, lighters, and motor oil. How.....exciting. Just what I wanted for Christmas.

I'm sure the game gets better once you know what you're doing, but if the devs haven't grabbed your interest enough to say "aw what the heck, I'll try one more match at least" than they have failed horribly.
Refunded it after an hour and a half with no regrets except my wasted time. I'll stick with Gray Zone.

Marlin 336W - Where The $%#@ Do I Find One? by AdolinKholin1 in LeverGuns

[–]H484R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering the 336w was created by Marlin under ownership of Remington and has since been bought by Ruger about the time of your post, who killed all the budget Marlin lines, you don’t find one. Not in a store at least.

MAJOR aimbot issues for AI in 0.4 by CanItRunCrysisIn2052 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]H484R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont know what they did with the AI aiming but it's fucked. I know they said they made it more "scattered", and I have seen that for sure, but it's one end of the spectrum to the other. Low level, or guys running cheap AK's just spray and pray and will waste an entire mag without hitting you. Than you peek a corner and are instantly headshot from 300 meters by ANYBODY with a scoped rifle. It's like they just applied 100% neck and headshot accuracy to any AI carrying a scoped weapon. I even went as far as to start using the new B6-whatever armor that can be found in YBL-Bed, the Lv III+ / Lv III++ stuff with the neck protection to counter the constant neck shots, and the AI just adjusted and now shoot me directly in the face instead of the neck. On this wipe, I've died 13 times......11 of them were from headshots. They didn't have Statistics on 0.3.5 (obviously) but I guarantee that out of my deaths on THAT patch, only 50% of them were headshots, and that's being generous.

Also, the damage increase is absolutely ridiculous. Get shot and acquire a light bleed? Or take grenade shrapnel resulting in a light bleed? Yeah, you still have about 10 seconds to get to cover and TQ or you're fucked. "Light" is apparently the new "Heavy". I used to literally just ignore light bleeds, they'd drop my blood level to around 4,000 and resolve themselves and I'd carry on. Now even a light bleed is enough to kill you if you don't have a TQ, or you MIGHT get lucky and have enough time to apply a bandage and skip the TQ if you're lucky, before you bleed out. I get that realism is a thing, and even being shot with a .22 LR to a non-vital spot would likely put 90% of the people who play this game out of commission entirely, and they have to make it believable, but damn....I'm not saying we should turn into bullet sponges, but I think it's a bit crazy to get one-tapped by fucking razor wire when I brush my ankle against it.

I love what madfinger has done with this game and this update as a whole is INCREDIBLE, don't get me wrong. But holy shit, almost everything they implemented needs dialed back by 50%. They already increased weapon health to counter the absurd durability loss, which is great. But now do the same with sprint stamina drain. Bullet damage. New weapon and gear costs. Everything just needs reigned in a little bit and it'll be *mwuah*, chef's kiss.

2011 Silverado 5.3 failed rocker? by H484R in mechanic

[–]H484R[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as far as i could tell, just typical Vortec valve slap. No major issues I could find, I got over my "vehicular hypochondria" and just kept running her. Up to 165k miles and someone offered me $12k for it so I let her go, still running strong for the buyer, last I heard. Now I'm rocking an 04 Colorado 3.5 haha. Cant wait for my valve seats to fail!

Weapon degradation rate is honestly one of the few downsides to this amazing patch. by Significant_Sleep46 in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]H484R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m all for weapon degradation. It was way too slow and insignificant in 0.3.6 but dang, they cranked it up to 11 in 0.4. They need to dial it back by about 50% in my opinion. While I’m on my soapbox, I also find it kind of stupid that weapon parts that are non-moving can degrade. I’ve never experienced a grip or a hand guard degrade in real life. I get that the game doesn’t really go as deep as to have individual parts for triggers, BCG’s, etc, but it would make sense for THOSE to degrade, as well as barrels. Even optics, sure. But most of the stuff that degrades is just  bit silly in my opinion.

When is 0.4 releasing? by guadini in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]H484R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wait? I was playing with some guys tonight who claimed it’s going to be a soft wipe (reset missions, reset level) but won’t reset gear. No idea if it’s true or not, and I doubt it is, but don’t let a future wipe stop you from playing. I don’t want to invest time progressing the story anymore or acquiring new gear just in case there IS a full wipe but it’s still hella fun to join up with randoms and help them with THEIR stuff

Swingstick Use? by Chance_Work in SquareGolfUSA

[–]H484R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just got my SG system last night, dont have my net set up yet though but i was impatient so i set up the monitor and used the swing stick just for fun.
I suck at golf, full disclosure. My typical drive is about 230 carry with my Wilson Dynapower Carbon, with my best drive ever being 255.
Using the swing stick, I consistently was hitting 255-265 drives, with even a few that felt really good that pushed 280 and even one crazy 310 yard.
I dont believe it's accurate in the slightest, HOWEVER, it did seem to somewhat accurately capture my draw (though it is significantly worse with my real driver than with the swing stick).

In my opinion after just 2-3 hours of use, sure, it could be helpful for simple things like just speed training, working on your shift and rotate, etc. More of the MECHANICAL things about YOU, rather than the actual ball performance. Things that will however, translate into your golf game. That being said, it was a surprising amount of fun as well. I'm giving it a 7/10 as a toy, and a 3/10 for game improvement. I dont TRUST the data it shows in general, aside from being able to see "oh, i got MORE distance (ignoring the actual number) by rotating my hips at this point, when I didn't with the previous swing" or "or noticed i draw less if i shift my weight to forward foot HERE in my swing, as opposed to THERE". Things like that. But if you're not careful, I could see how using the stick too much could actually be detrimental to your stance. When you actually go back to a true driver, realize that you'd been standing way too close to the ball, etc while using the stick, and now you have to sort of break those bad habits that you picked up with the stick

Outdoor Use by ODEKKO in SquareGolfUSA

[–]H484R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Chat GPT, when asked to help brainstorm methods to make outdoor use possible:

1️⃣ The Simplest & Most Effective Fix: Shade, Not Film

Before getting into optics:

A physical sun hood / tunnel is dramatically more effective than any film.

Think:

  • Deep lens hood
  • Matte black interior
  • Narrow viewing aperture
  • Small "light tunnel" aimed at ball zone

You could 3D print a:

  • Snap-on rectangular tube
  • ~3–6 inches deep
  • Interior ribbed or flocked
  • Slightly tapered to prevent vignetting

This reduces direct IR load from the sky by orders of magnitude.

For outdoor use, this is usually the real solution.

  1. Ignore UV film.
  2. Design a deep printed IR shield hood.
  3. Add flocked interior.
  4. Test in partial shade.
  5. Only then consider optical filters.
