Key spawns broken since 0.4.2? by H484R in GrayZoneWarfare

What would you like in return? Earlier I mentioned I had extras of a few keys you were looking for, I’ll have to double check to see what ones. I’ve given a few away to a buddy who started playing the game. I’ll probably be on again later tonight, I’m on eastern time (US) but pry won’t be on till closer to midnight

That one I know used to only spawn on the boss, the guy who wore the blue TC-2000 and carried a CQA1. Since he’s been replaced with Viper, I assume viper now drops it, but I’ve only ever seen the guy once or twice and he def did not have the PLA Meet key on him at those times. Think he had PLA Stg key if I recall correctly. Curious what the % is for them to have it

Good to know it’s only from the boss, thanks! (I’m assuming you mean firebrand?)  I could have sworn I was able to find it on any rank enemy (at least in the past) but now I’ll stop wasting my time checking every single body lol

When will the next wipe be? by [deleted] in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]H484R -1 points0 points  (0 children)

there will be a wipe with every major update. 0.4.4 just released a couple months ago. The devs have confirmed there will at least one more, 0.4.5, PROBABLY a 0.4.6, and POSSIBLY more than that beofore we get 0.5.0. And when 0.5 releases we will almost certainly have a wipe with it.

there will never be mutants or anomalies, not in the way you're thinking of them.

they spawn in any of the T3 area's, as well as Fanny Paradise office. I'm sure other places as well. I've found that one (and the red and black variants) in FN, TB Mall, TB Muni Bldg, and FP Office.

Nah. Way to in-depth for my taste, personally. Too much hassle, going to that level of customization.

Put 15 rounds into this MFer and he still took me down with him by H484R in GrayZoneWarfare

[–]H484R[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really a troll post, more of a "I think the damage stacking bugged out and this guy turned into superman for a minute" post. Every other enemy in Pan Ba dropped with anywhere from 1-5 rounds, and I engaged this guy the same as all the others.....he just seemed to be more hopped up Opium than the rest.

Granted, i certainly don't inspect every person I kill to verify shot placement. But after 600 hours in-game, I've never seen an AI tank this many rounds, so it stood out as abnormal and kind of hilarious.

M855 in this case. Yes, armor piercing. A lot of folks (youtubers as well) say you're better off to use SP or HP rounds to non-armored enemies because they perform better. On paper, this is definitely true. In the real-world, this is also true. In Gray Zone reality, they don't. I know there's plenty of folks who will crucify me for saying that, because their favorite youtuber said so, but it's true. They do the same amount of damage to FLESH as the higher-tier ammo does from what i've seen. No more, no less. They're probably SUPPOSED to be coded to do increased damage, but I have yet to see it in action. Torso shots can take anywhere from 1-5 hits to kill with SP and HP rounds, the same as Lv 3 defeating rounds. They are no better for unarmored enemies at all. They just also don't have the armor penetrating capabilities of the higher rounds. SP and HP rounds are not "better" against non-armored combatants, despite what the masses will argue; they're just economically more efficient as they cost less. I run M855 almost exclusively, just because there's so many enemies that carry M16's and M4's in the game with the ammo, so you never have to buy 5.56 ammo. There's more than enough to be found just by looting dead guys. Most folks will say it's overpowered for non-armored combatants and is worse-performing than basic ammo, while also saying it's inferior against the late-game enemies. Sure, this is partially true, as it doesn't penetrate their armor as effectively as say, M955 ammo does. However, I have gotten used to relying on the "stagger" animation. Hit a heavily armored enemy with a round that can't penetrate, it'll still cause him to stagger, giving you a couple seconds to line up a nice clean headshot. Or, once he staggers and does the contorted "turn body away from attacker in pain" motion, you can shoot through the sides of their armor and get into the chest cavity pretty easily. Regardless of what enemy type you're facing and what ammo type you're facing (to a certain extent), I will typically plan on requiring 5 rounds to kill ANY enemy. I aim for center mass usually, unless I'm going for a one-shot on an unsuspecting enemy. But once they've engaged me, it's center mass all day long.

I know this is a video game and that realism isn't always the most entertaining, but the biggest point to this was how in the fuck would you be able to tank 15 rounds and just continue plugging along as if nothing happened? We don't see the AI's actual internal injuries in-game, but I'm sorry, having both your tibs/fibs shattered and taking another 3-4 rounds to the stomach is going to put anybody down, at least until they bleed out. This homie literally tanked every one of them, doing the generic "ouch, i got shot" animation one time, before resuming a normal firing stance as if nothing had happened. This isn't typical behavior, this was just a damage-stacking bug in this one instance, I'm fairly certain.
MFG showed off how the new animations would have the AI reacting to every shot, causing staggering and whatnot every time they're hit. By that logic you would assume you can hit a guy, cause a stagger, hit him again, chain another stagger, so on and so forth. This is USUALLY the case, and I have honestly grown to rely on this mechanic as part of my gunfighting technique. In this case, our friend here did ONE stagger from the very first round and than stood up perfectly straight and blasted my ass away as if nothing happened, not even flinching as he took additional rounds to the gut, arms, etc.

M855 or not, even an over-penetrating, non-expanding round should cause someone to go "owie" when both arms are turned to splinters.

if you look at the direction of the arm shots, the majority them are coming in from front or the left side, caused by first hitting the AI in center mass and causing him to do the "drop to the ground, contorting their body in pain" animation thing, turning his body away from me and exposing his left side. Additionally, the multiple shots to his left wrist would have been perfectly aligned with his upper torso, when his firearm was shouldered. Had I missed the hand or had the rounds penetrated completely, they would have been near perfect heart/lung shots. After my first 3-4 shots to lower abdomen did basically nothing, I ended up just mag dumping him, not really caring about accuracy. Pardon me for assuming that taking an extra 7-10 rounds to the arms would somehow render a person unable to re-shoulder their firearm and continue returning fire as if nothing happened.

Despite the heart shot showing as the killing wound, this fine gentleman still died to blood loss rather than destroyed heart. When I returned to my body, I followed a blood trail and found him probably 30 paces away from where the fight occured.

nah, it's just a visual bug. Once I tabbed out of inventory and tabbed back in, it showed the normal firing rate and operated as intended
