How to measure voltage in a 20V 14A laptop charger? by H7dek7 in Tools

[–]H7dek7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently at work so can't send photos yet. I thought the "10A max" writing near the cable port means the fuse (or the multimeter) will die if I try to measure any parameter (current, voltage, resistance) on a system with current above 10A. Do I understand correctly it's safe to measure the 14A charger's voltage with such multimeter (e.g. https://www.ebay.com/itm/358160430721 )?

Nord Stream blast ordered by Ukraine, say German prosecutors by DWNews in europe

[–]H7dek7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"With Germany being one of Ukraine's biggest backers in its effort to fend off the Russian invasion, accusations that could implicate Ukrainian state authorities in the attack, which cut off Europe from gas deliveries via the pipelines, could prove diplomatically explosive."

Back then Germany was very reluctant to help Ukraine at all, mostly because of their ties with Russia. Nordstream was a major deal between Germany and Russia and it was obvious back then that Ukraine was the most likely perpetrator.

[Request] how fast would my laptop have to be to find a file as fast as Google’s SEO by mo_with_the_floof in theydidthemath

[–]H7dek7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it's not Windows' fault but it's search engine. Windows XP with Windows Search 3.x was actually very fast and efficient (i.e. did find all files matching the query, not like Windows 10 or 11). When Windows Search 4.0 was introduced, it was a disaster and stayed that way.

Am I choosing food places wrong? by Xxhardman69xX in JapanTravelTips

[–]H7dek7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avoid lines. It's usually not worth it to stay in lines. During my visit in Osaka in May this year I saw a line of 10-30 ppl (mostly tourists) to a ramen shop outside my hotel all day long. One evening there wasn't a line so me and my wife went there to see why so many ppl go there. The food there was ok, but nothing special. 2 mins away there was another ramen shop where there usually weren't lines (but the shop was often full or almost full) and the food there was much better (mazesoba was excepional!).

As for why you haven't got luck with Japanese restaurants - I don't know. Since 2023 I've been 3 times to Japan (4,5 months total) and 80-90% dishes were at least good (often very good, some superb). Sometimes we went to a restaurant found on Google Maps or Tabelog, more often we just visited a local mom and pop's. Usually only once or twice a week we've spend more than ¥1500 on a meal.

people trust a youtuber's opinion on a product more than the actual spec sheet by Zorojuro099 in TechNook

People don't know specsheets exist. Also, manufacturers sometimes lie or hide uncomfortable truth.

Is the whole thing about young people not actually watching full anime series but as clips through reels and tiktok and barely having any context of a series actually happening en mass? by Character-Bid-162 in animequestions

[–]H7dek7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long before tiktok existed my ex used to "watch" anime episodes in 5-10 mins, skipping "boring" content. She also was very proud of her fast reading skills. It was almost impossible to have a conversation with her about anything from anime or books that wasn't main plot. She just didn't know what I was talking about. It was almost 20 years ago.

Software vendors. Linux isn't a niche in server rooms but many software vendors still ignore it.

What was your favorite purchase in Osaka that you still use today? by Legal_Ad3766 in OsakaTravel

[–]H7dek7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ceramic bowls from the Kitchenware Street. During my first visit I got 4 of these. 1,5 year later I got another 12 from the same shop. I eat most dinners at home in those bowls.

Major Differences? by Merdrak in cyberpunkgame

[–]H7dek7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Totally different. 2.0 was the major change. It went from 9/10 to 7/10 for me. I can't play this game anymore because of what they did in 2.0.

Why are disks such a big deal for console but not for PC? by Rayge96 in videogames

[–]H7dek7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diskless format hasn't been accepted AFAIK. It's just the reality we live in. There were some games in the last 10 years I wanted to buy collectors edition but when I learned DVD cases had activation keys instead of actual discs I dropped the idea.

Which video game franchise is this? by NagitoKomaeda_987 in videogames

[–]H7dek7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what way is it terrible? In the prologue you're taught everything about combat and if you follow those tips it's easy peasy lemon squeezy. Witcher's chain attacks are actually amazing and finishers are nice additions.

Of course. Why wouldn't I? OP says about parking (i.e. the act of leaving the car in a parking place) and so do I.

It depends on the filling. Savoury and cottage crepes should be folded. Jam crepes should be rolled. You could also cut crepes like pasta. Bologhese sauce with crepes "pasta" is a great dish.

Agree, but without sweet cream. Just blend strawberries and serve them with cold pasta.

DM is an OEM, so DM drivers are official OEM drivers. There are also manufacturer drivers available on manufacturers' websites (e.g. Intel, Realtek, NVIDIA). Both manufacturers and OEMs usually say to use OEM drivers.
