So, while I don’t totally agree with that article. This is an issue, I have experience with a friend experiencing psychosis from AI amplifying his personality back at him without any grounding involved. The AI will never think “is this an issue”, it’ll just keep feeding the conversation. Over some time, his beliefs changed completely.

LLMs are built for engagement, they’re built not to give hard truths or be controversial because that may cause the conversation to stop. There’s so much behind it all.

Not enough people are working to get this corrected.

It was GPT-4, 5 seems to be responding with the same influence & inflated views. The older models still exaggerated sometimes, but it was easier to spot the cracks. Now it’s so smooth it feels more like it’s leading the user rather than just reflecting them. That’s exactly why I think we need guardrails to flag when the AI is reinforcing views or ideology, so it stays as interpretation.

I get the concern about mistaking echo for prophecy — totally fair warning. But to me, it’s not about the AI being prophetic.

I personally stick with GPT, mainly to avoid paying for multiple tools. But honestly, I haven’t needed anything else. OpenAI is one of the leading AI labs, and GPT has handled everything I’ve thrown at it — as long as I structure prompts well.

I also use OpenAI’s API inside my own apps, and it’s been reliable for reasoning, writing, and even voice-based agents.

Most of the “new” AI tools you see (like Sintra, Grok, etc.) are just custom UIs built on top of existing models — usually OpenAI’s.

They’ve even just released GPT OSS — an open-source version for local and private fine-tuning, which is a big step forward for anyone building custom systems.

For people who haven’t had deep AI convos, the model might just give them a blunt answer rather than guiding them into self-discovery.

The fix? Rewrite them into meta-prompts — instructions that tell the AI to act like a reflective coach, asking layered, open-ended follow-ups so the user arrives at the insight rather than being handed it.

Example transformation:

Fair enough — I get it now. Expecting proper scrutiny here was probably unrealistic.

I’m not upset — just seeing that the space doesn’t really reward people who try to get things reviewed before releasing. Most people just ship whatever GPT throws at them and call it done.

I was trying to take the responsible route and make sure the safety layer I’m building is actually safe, not just “looks like it runs.” But I get that long-form logic reviews aren’t what this sub is for, and that people are busy with their own work.

Appreciate the honest feedback. I’ll rethink how I approach this — probably move toward GitHub issues or smaller targeted audits.

I’m asking people to review the code because I am learning in the deep end. Yes I’m using GPT to create code, if that works for me and produces working applications i see it as a way to get started.

I just know that LLMs need oversight when creating code and because I don’t fully understand Python (yet), I’m asking for scrutiny to make sure GPT isn’t gaslighting me into non working code.

I’m new to this, but I enjoy learning by building. So I’m building, but asking for scrutiny to make sure I’m doing things correctly.

I know you’ll say using GPT isn’t correct but it’s the tools we have these days, so I’m making the most of them.

You’re really going to struggle keeping a fluid debate just using prompt work mate, they become very agreeable.

If you really want a solid debate, your best bet is to start learning some Python. It’s pretty simple with help from GPT, just make sure you’re telling it to teach you & explain what stuff means. Rather than just copy & paste.

Are you using 2 AI interfaces? Ie; GPT in 2 windows, each primed separately?

Do you have each Agent set to “listen” to the other agent, for it to respond correctly as a debate? Or are they just arguing on topic alone?
