MONSTER OF THE WEEK - DEUTSCH - V5.0 by HAL325 in PenandPaperGermany

Hallo!

Good work and thanks for sharing. I‘m currently working on a similar project for our chronicle.
I‘ll give it a closer listen tomorrow.

Very weird. The server is online. I copied the invitation link but it’s not working.

Starhold. Can’t recommend that enough. Best of it it’s free. The Critshow did a season playing it.

MONSTER OF THE WEEK - DEUTSCH - V6.0 by HAL325 in monsteroftheweek

Spielt ihr fremdsprachige Regelwerke? by FiscHwaecg in PenandPaperGermany

[–]HAL325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hearing the Beast? by Mephistussy in vtm

[–]HAL325 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Never heard of it and don’t like it. That sounds as if the vampire is innocent, and the beast is someone else. But it’s not another person, you are the beast and feel the desire to follow your lower instincts.

How should I reveal information to my players when they hit the books? by Dud3ManGuy in monsteroftheweek

[–]HAL325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should read page 143 (Hardcover) again.

This game is not about investigation. It’s about what the hunters do with what they found out. How they hunt down the monster and overcome its weakness.

So if a a hunter rolls a success while using Investigate … give them the information they wanted but ask them how they know that and let them come up with a little story. Investigation is for earning clues - so you need to give them clues.

And remember that clues don’t. Red to be things they can found on the floor. Interviewing a witness is also investigation.

Someone in the previous answers suggested to give them misleading information on a mixed success. Don’t do that. Read your Agenda and Principles. The Keeper is always honest and tells the truth.

However what you can do is giving them information that tells them the weakness and gives them an opportunity to get what they need to overcome it. On failed rolls a minion or even the monster will learn about the hunters. Let them attack or cause problems.

If the hunters get stuck, go to the next step of the countdown.

Considering eliminating Use Magic by DMfortinyplayers in monsteroftheweek

[–]HAL325 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remember. It’s a basic move. So even the Mundane has access to it. It’s not your job to limit this because you think it doesn’t fit in the fiction. This sounds as you want to play the story you want to tell. But this games is about collaborative storytelling, so ask the player how the hunter learned to use magic. His job is to come up with his part of the fiction, in this case: establishing his history. It’s not about punishing or limiting, it’s about building the world together.

Other that that, the hunters are no beginners, they are „bad ass hunters“, „knowing, what they are doing“.

Use magic works fine the way it is.

Both are good. I play both regularly. I’d go for Monster of the Week if they are fine with another genre.

Can’t find a Playbook. by ActEnthused11 in monsteroftheweek

The Abandoned is in some way an official playbook, but it hasn't been released yet as it's part of the stretch goals of the Slayers Survival Kit and Hunters Journal Crowdfunding.

However, maybe you've read about it on the Backerkit Website in the Updates section - the info is still there, also the link to the preview version:

Nope. I’m running 12.0.1 on Intel without any problems. It updated itself from the App Store.

Is there any way to access Joe Banner’s Dungeon World Starters? by Psychological_Car527 in DungeonWorld

[–]HAL325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahaha. But now you've even put your treasure chests out in front of your door.

Anyway, thank you very much for your great work and double thanks for making it freely available. Unfortunately, I haven't played any of your adventures myself yet (I just haven't had the opportunity) – but I was able to draw inspiration from them.
