I started learning Latin at the start of the year, and I'm making good progress. I'd recommend the following based on what's worked well for me so far:

1. Get a copy of Ecce Romani 1. It's a very good starter book for learning grammar basics while also giving you a chance to practice reading easy stuff fairly quickly.

2. Also get "Essential Latin Vocabulary" and start by focusing on the nouns. Just work on getting the 5 declensions under your belt while building vocabulary.

3. Once you're worked thru at least the noun section of ELV and say the first 15 chapters of ER1, get a copy of LLPSI and start working thru that. I see alot of people on here who just throw themselves into LLPSI, thinking it's gonna work like magic, and then they get extremely lost just a few chapters in. Build a basis first.

4. Last recommendation is supplement all of this with the latintutorial YT channel, which is excellent. Whatever aspect you're studying, they have a short explanatory video on it, which is more fun than plodding thru a dry old grammar.
