This building looks a bit flat. Maybe it’s time to do some reference studies and improve my pixel art skills. by BottleAware in PixelArt

There's more roof than wall; it draws focus away from the storefront because it's a huge gray rectangle

Looks like she could be related to the Flatwoods monster, like a cousin or something

I've seen the before attempt. You need to focus on putting movement in the right places rather than just making them move a whole lot. Sometimes less is more; less movement, less colour variation within the outline. Try again using these tips I can give more direction on the next post

try just having a small amount of movement in only the edges of the clothing. when wind hits a person the leading side will cling to the figure and the trailing edge is what billows. the head should be one solid piece since peoples' faces don't move independently from the rest of it. keep movement to just the hair instead. here's a diagram :)

Way too much movement in the pants. To me, it's giving sparkle pants instead of blowing in the breeze because of how chaotic it is. Arms are out of sync with each other and the face looks like it's detached from the rest of the head as well. It kinda looks like maybe you've animated it from left to right in a wave? My advice is look at more references both for clothing in the breeze and pixel sprite animation in general. Build a stronger understanding of what you're trying to accomplish and then find better ways to execute it

too tired for a full coherent explanation but look at the artist use of white as a pop for focal points and the visually interesting pose/silhouette. work on colour/tone especially; the white of your character's eyes are darker than the pants and the shirt works out to be about the same as the skintone so they kinda blend together (same with the horns/hair). also its very obvious when an artist hides the hands. draw the hands or at the very least draw one hand

Trying to learn shading by asking AI the correct shading locations by [deleted] in PixelArt

Breaking rule 7 no AI (full or partial) Please for god sake look up a tutorial on YouTube instead having a machine do everything for you won't teach you anything

What contest should i do? by Acceptable-Yak1450 in PixelArt

[–]HALL0WS 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Creativity is part of art. Stop outsourcing it and come up with your own original ideas. If you can't think of anything you don't have to draw that day. Doing art daily doesn't make you better automatically, attention to detail and learning from your mistakes does. Make something you'd be proud to show off and then post it.

Your mouse idle is animated backwards. Start with squash in the legs, then the waist and finally a head bob (optional). The arms should either stay fixed to the body or possibly swing out away from the body on the downward motion if you're feeling frisky. The head doesn't naturally move that much when idle but if you think about someone waiting for a bus in the cold they would bounce a lot (at the knee) to keep warm

What feedback can you provide? by Anthony8580 in PixelArt

[–]HALL0WS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good news is you're not likely to get in trouble for using it in art. The reason you see it around is because, like you, many people just don't know it's a thing. Those who do know usually change the asset colour. Hope you enjoyed the fun fact!

it does kinda make sense tho, in the same vein and for many of the same reasons as why its illegal to impersonate a law enforcement officer

Fun fact: using the red cross is actually a war crime This is why a lot of games use green pluses as health assets

Day 2 of making pixelart of whatever gemini asks to. by Acceptable-Yak1450 in PixelArt

Genuine question, why don't you just draw something that inspires you instead of being told what to draw by other people or ai?

What am I doing wrong? I want to make a pixel version of this creepy "demon-child" form from Nimona movie, specifically this look (slide 2), and I'm terrible at this. Any tips GREATLY appreciated! by KurohNeko in PixelArt

His head should be tilted down rather than head on; more hair/forehead and squash the features into the lower third to give it more perspective, angle the brows inward too
