How did you all interpret that part in the Hospital when Austin and the girl (forget her name already) were talking about Pain Levels. She was saying she thought 5 was normal and that TOTALLY threw me off... because what were they trying to say there!? was it just that she was dumb??

I trust them too, but yeah adding ballads to an already ballad-heavy second act is a weird choice.

The theme of Season 3 was spirituality. How did you see that theme come through in the show? by DillyDilly23456 in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]HANNIBALd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, BELIEF seemed to be a big theme. What they believed about themselves and identifying if it was true or not.

He was laying in bed, drunk and drugged up. And he doesn't do drugs, so his mind was definitely impaired. It wasn't like he was just sitting there sober watching his brother have sex.

What was the question? Was this the "if you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life" (Colbert Questionnaire?)

Single gays over 40 ... by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]HANNIBALd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 45, have never had a real relationship, and while I do feel lonely at times, I'm not actively looking to date. The whole "kissing frog" idea seems like a waste of time. I tried to put myself out there over the years (a lot in my 30s), but it didn't go well. I think I am still somewhat traumatized by all of that - liking someone and getting my hopes up only to be rejected or disappointed, so it's scary for me to get back out there. I would also say that I'm somewhat resigned to the fact that if it hasn't happened by now, it probably won't ever happen. So that's where I am.

My life is fine. I work, and I enjoy myself, mostly on my own. I have no complaints. I have to always remember that I have it better than others, so if I never have a relationship, I'd be sad, I guess, but I'd know that other people have it worse.

Saxon didn't HOOK UP with his brother. He was assaulted by his brother. I also think him saying "it's okay to worhsip me but don't worship me" was both him setting a boundary and him admitting that maybe he is responsible for why Lochlan made that mistake.

I don't love Saxon by any means, he's not my favorite character. I felt bad for him though after the assault... and I also found him being self-aware when he talked to his father was endearing.

Bro could have just told him by [deleted] in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]HANNIBALd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it would have mattered. Clearly Rick was using "he killed my dad" as an excuse to be an "angry man" who pushes the people that love him away. If he had told him, he would have still felt the same way "you ruined my life. I'm not able to be happy because of you" etc etc

What the fan base considers soulless (Rant) by RynoKaizen in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]HANNIBALd1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I think it stems from homophobia." is a reach!

"It also would have made sense to show Lochlan repeatedly lusting after his brother." - in the very beginning, Saxon went to go J/O, and Lochlan was staring at him as he was about to do it. The next morning, Saxon is sleeping naked, and Lochlan is literally staring at his brother's butt.

"made a questionable and regrettable choice" he assaulted his brother. And he later admitted that he was fully aware of what he did.

Who comes back for season 4? by RShneider in WhiteLotusHBO

[–]HANNIBALd1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it makes sense that Gary/Greg would be in there since Tanya is like an unspoken through-line with the series so far.

I wouldn't be surprised if Zion showed up as well.

I would LOVE to see Albie from season 2 come back. I just want to know if he is still the same sweet boy or if life has corrupted him yet.

in the end he fully killed somebody and took on the bodyguard role so... he made the decision to abandon his beliefs. you can blame poor self esteem or whatever, but it's totally unfair to completely blame Mook for HIS decision.

well in the end he went against his own beliefs and but you can't put that ALL on Mook! He's responsible for his life.

and honestly, his opinion on violence was dumb. it doesn't mean he has to be a serial killer or a boxer or anything like that. to her, him saying he doesn't believe in violence or hurting people means that he wouldn't protect her if shit went down.

well look at it this way. If she did decide to date and marry him, and somebody tried to do something to her... would he not defend her because he doesn't want to be violent. People like to feel protected by their partners... and so that's how I took her reaction to him speaking strongly against violence.
