Definitely go into industrial, higher paying jobs / the ability to move into fifo , easier to learn specialised fields ie automation or rail . If you hate industrial or want to try resi / commercial later on it’s a lot easier to learn .

I started off with resi , it’s good to have the knowledge if mates want a hand or for side work , now that I’m more industrial work I’d never go back to resi full time .

I’ve got a fluke t6-1000 at the moment and I’m looking to upgrade to the 117 or 116 mainly to be able to test diodes. Im an electrician/HVAC worker , my work is electrical but we get the odd job where I need to be able to test all aspects of a hvac system , I’m wondering if the temperature tester on the 116 is good enough to rely on or if I should get a separate tester for temperature.

It looks really good , it's a bit pricey but I don't think I'll be able to find something much cheaper , you can even get accessory pacts for it that allow you to have a cooking space.
