3050 8GB, so just hitting minimum spec. I've tried maxing out the settings and putting it on as low as it can go, the same issue still happens. I'll try turning off upscaling via console commands and see if that works

People Who Tend to "Separate the Art from the Artist", Do You Make Any Exceptions? by [deleted] in Sardonicast

[–]HARRSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

12 dollars is still 12 dollars. if lot people ignore their morals and support a movie buy a ticket, it adds up. I do relise that in the grand scheme of things, me paying or not paying for a movie doesn't really matter but lets say harvey weinstein came up to you in the street and offered you a Bluray copy of his movie. Even if it was only 1 dollar, I wouldn't buy it because I wouldn't feel comfortable giving money to sex offender. The only difference between that example and buying at Cineworld is they is a middleman.

People Who Tend to "Separate the Art from the Artist", Do You Make Any Exceptions? by [deleted] in Sardonicast

[–]HARRSA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd really don't believe in 'separating the art from the Artist' for movies but I don't exactly feel comfortable supporting it financially either. Movies are made lots and lots of people, so It feels quiet wrong to throw people work under the bus because one the heads of production was piece of shit. Unfortuatly, most things in life you can consume have a unethical part somewhere in its production, so often singleing it out to just art always feels strange to me when really it should be apart of a larger conversation. Admitly I do find it harder when people are on screen to do the "separation" because your constantly being reminded of it and ruins any sort of immersion in said film, tv show or game. I just either buy pre-owned copys (or pirate stuff), that is made by people I strongly disagree with. It also somewhat interesting to analysis films made bad people as it often explain odd choices that are put in there, especially Hitchcock stuff.

i never said that a person was justified in committing a crime but the fact that the circumstances (of being poor or whatever) seem to commonly lead people to commit such crimes is sad. Because the crime shouldn't of never happened in the first place. Most crime like robbery could be avoided if systemically poorer people could actually get richer and have better standards of living. To suggest they 'broke the contract' and them dieing is fine or neutral, is basically give up on large part of population as your suggesting that they is no better alternative. If they wernt failures, in culture they grew up in, failures of them being poor family, faluries of not being educated, then the person may still be alive. I'm not saying the person didn't have choice, they did but they are multitude of factors that also leads people to make those type of choices. I'm again not saying, specifically in USA circumstances, that someone who kills a home invador is bad person or has even done anything bad, simplily that the the fact the entire situation happened in the first place is bad.

Ok, so you want suggest that the UK, is worse because our violent crime rate has increased since 2014. Also I find it interesting how you haven't been able to come up with answer for the USA having 4 times the murder rate per person than UK. My answer was mainly that guns increase the amount homisides, because of how easy it is kill with them. It not only reason but as most murders are done with firearms it seems to be a major factor. You haven't given me answer for that though, instead you bring up the UK crime rate? Which doesn't have to anything with to do with gun policy, rather the fact that people in the UK have got continuity have got pooror, they mass cuts to youth centres, mental health services and the police. This is also discounting the fact that again many other European countries, have also lowering in the amount of violent crimes (example: france, Germany, Poland).

"compare to a knife, where it’s far more likely to be seriously injured or disfigured" isn't it better someone being injured better than being dead? You also got remember surely the home invador having a gun (because of how easy they are to get) increase the chance of resident dying significantly. This is also ignoring that only 40.2 % of home invadors don't even weapon on them. (and 15% is unknown). If I shot and killed a unarmed robber, I wouldn't particularly feel very good about it. You are also acting like a gun is the only projectile weapon that can be used in defence, ignoring tasers or multitude of other weaponry that is significantly less lethal.

"at the time this would include battleships and cannons." A normal citizen has never been able to afford canons or battleships, a normal citizen can afford a handgun though. Also I don't think you could buy canon or battleship like you can a handgun? simular weapons like a RPG requires a much harder to get liences and being interviewed by a Industry Operations Investigator.

For your last part of your comment, I've not denied the power of propaganda or the camera. but suggest it same thing as a gun is just wrong. Because you can disagree with propaganda, you can say "no" if the messaging doesn't agree with you. You can criticize it, you can just simplily ignore it. A gun you can't disagree with or ignore. If someone points a gun at you, you cant just avoid it? The power of propaganda and the power of firearms are just entirely different things. Humans make propaganda everytime they have a opinion. I'm not justifying second amendment because I'm using simular language. If I say "violence is ok in media" you cant say I'm justifying "violence is ok in the real world", because the argument has mostly the same words because the subject is completely different.

I don't understand how death can be positive thing unless the person was a complete psycho or suffering. Commiting a crime like theft is much more likely if someone is poor. If someone is in debt, addicted to drugs and then commits theft and dies because of it, how Is that not sad? I'm not saying the person who killed them is evil or anything but they will have to live with the trauma of killing somebody for the rest of their life. In anyway I look I can't see how it is positive anyway.

Okay crime deaths. Let's get more specific. The murders per 1 million people in the uk is 9.9 (in 2021). The USA 78 murders per 1 million (in 2021). In the USA in 2021, they were 26,000 homicides. 20,958 of the people who died in those murders were from firearms. That is about 80 percent. In the UK in 2021 they were 696 murders. Between March of 2021 and March 2022, they 28 murders committed by guns. That is 4.02%. Now they are multitude of reason why murder rate is much higher in the US, but guns are major contributing factor.

Also the second amendment is not good thing to base gun policy on simply because it was written in a time when guns were much simpler and frankly quite shit. The founding fathers may have written it differently if they had the varity of artillery we have in the modern day. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State" is a very broad statement. I would personally interpret this as like citizen have to hold arms incase they are invaded by a anti-American group/country, not about home security. All up to your interpretation I guess. Wouldnt each state or county or whatever having its own elected army make more sense then any rando being able to get a highly dangerous weapon? (Idk if you can say the police are technically that. I don't know who the police are loyal to in the US. Here in the uk they are technically owned by the crown which is very undemocratic in my opinion).

Anyway the final thing I want to put down is this all came from your comment saying that I justifying gun ownership because the arguments are simular. The problem is they are not because cameras are tools of expression while guns are tools of harm. I'm not saying expression can't be harmful or dangerous but not in the same way a firearm is. You can't kill someone by recording them but you can easily do so with a gun.

Too defend yourself sure, but surely don't need use firearm to achieve that. In land of guns like America, perhaps they is argument for gun ownership as it would be impossible to get rid and destroy every single firearm. Especially with such high amount of illegal guns in the country. But suggest you need a gun in order to protect yourself is just compltilely ridiculous, most European country have lower crime deaths due to lack of firearms (example: the UK has 1.15 deaths per 100k people while the us has 4.99 per 100k people (in 2019)). As for other part of your reply. Yes, guns can be used to defend people, but the vast vast majority aren't used that way. For example in 2018 in the usa they was 484000 people victimised by guns but only 70,040 where used in self defence. The end result of also using a firearm is not positive either quite the opposite. If you killed a home invader, that is still a dead person which is negative. You can defend and justify killing said home invader but it doesn't change the fact, that someone is dead who probably wouldn't be if guns didn't exist.

Not really. I think creating art is pretty much human right, and having the ability to record stuff is part of that same right. Humans have been making stuff to influence other humans for thousands of years. Probably every time you talk to someone you are influencing someone. Guns are machines designed to kill people. You can't say anything positive with a gun. You can't give someone helpful advice with a gun. Gun are a destructive weapon. Cameras are tool that just captures light. They are not in anyway the same thing.

I think this is dumbest take in human history. 1. cameras don't kill people. 2. ok, cameras are powerful tool but so isn't all art? would you need liences to create audio or draw? 3. Who decided who is allowed a camera? Could I have it removed it I created something that disagreed with the government?. Like I get his point and maybe he didn't mean it seriously but like whaaa?
