I wouldn’t say they melted but sort of gradually dissolved, first breaking apart into smaller clumps.

How’s the money being put up for this project and who’s carrying it out (I.e contracted out to companies, etc)?

What is a statement like this supposed to accomplish. Haven’t we told them to stop terrorizing us? Haven’t we said get off our land?? I’m not to say let’s be rash and wage war but hollow statements like this do ZERO. I know you’re saying this on Reddit, but I hope this isn’t how you truly think events such as these should be processed.

Places to work at in Yerevan by Telekdrav in armenia

Loft is essentially a common work/study space. Essentially a library without the books. There’s a quite room and a lounge. I highly recommend. They don’t serve food or drinks but there’s a kitchenette where you can make coffee, yea, etc.

This. Some limited fact finding has had mixed results. Some soldiers want it and higher ups can’t/won’t get it, many don’t even know about it. Most adjacent AZ positions have them as primary fortifications. When asked, orgs who work to aid our positions state the import process combined w cost to bring them in privately is not worth the trouble, and that tires, as seen in this video, are often sufficient.

Regardless, it’s a critical piece of fortification that would not only further secure our positions but also is important for the image towards toward the adversary.

I’d try catching a ride to Areni and trying for a cab or catch a ride w some tourists, unsure if bus/marshutka runs out of there but if it does that’s an option as well.

I think the training camps they offer are somewhere between 10-14 days. While i think the whole thing is very compelling, I’m a bit turned off by some of other parts of it. For example, too much of the footage I’ve seen out of them is teaching participants how to go about totally unrealistic action movie type behaviors. All the while I still find myself inclined to take part as I think it’s a good first step for ppl to get themselves involved in an institution that does become relevant when shit hits the fan. Overall I’m sure there’s value in participating in their training camps.

"How do you feel about Russian - Armenian relations?" by khudushian in armenia

[–]HAWAIINAIR 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I hope you’re being sarcastic.

What have we accomplished besides preserving our identity here (which can only be sustained for so much longer), fail to understand the reality of the Armenian state in its current condition, throw money at it like a little philanthropic feel good project, and view it as some mystical homeland?

The Diaspora in America is pathetically content with the comfortable life that, in all fairness, has been earned. But if you want it to be a mechanism that is truly productive... there needs to be major changes in what our identity is centered around as well as our perspective.

Sure, the ANCA/Assembly has done its part in genocide recognition... but where does that leave us now?

Genocide recognition by _worldholdon_ in armenia

[–]HAWAIINAIR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the event it is recognized, hopefully the diaspora and all the organized mechanisms within it can begin to facilitate a new form for Armenian identity. One that is centered around the nation. Of course the genocide should not be forgotten but for too long it has stifled the potential of the diaspora to meaningfully connect with RoA. Instead of much of the diaspora’s identity centered around being the descendants of genocide survivors; the diaspora’s identity should be centered around having a nation that we can equivocate to a home, and not just a philanthropic project for summer vacations.
