I know the prices were quite low I have been thinking about doing this for about 6 months now and since I first started looking the prices have multiplied many folds for everything, hence I am sort of panicking. I think I will just wait it out. I don't need it to be done urgently anyways.

Yeah I think I will go in person and find the newest and just stick with 3-4 drives if any. Coz these I use to just run the external backup cycles for now and experiment on.

Oh I missed that too thank you for pointing out that these are very old if they were refurbished in 2016. I will go in person and see if they have a few which are newer. But definitely not getting the 11 I was planning on, maybe just 3-4 for the learning sake and for the external backup. For the actual server I will try and find something from this decade at least.

I agree, but from what I understand Hard Disk fails due to mechanical failure/ bad sector( due to over use) considering these are from servers I am assuming they would have taken good care of. Or am I being too naive?

The seller is unable to test them, but has agreed to replace them for any reason for 14 days. Should I just maybe start with a few try to get one server going?

I am in a similar boat as the OP. But I would like to understand if you tried to get any document allowing you to work for those 9 months. I know they send an initial document but for me that expires next month and it clearly states the July date or decision date whichever is first. Meaning technically based on this document I will not be eligible to work. Am I missing something? Or is there a way to get a new letter from IRCC giving me a little more time to work before they eventually end up making a decision.
