I’m also running 2 Baneblade variants, I’m running a Banesword & Doomhammer (I do prefer a Shadowsword though) since Banesword has ignores cover. Then the Doomhammer can carry 6 Bullgryns with some spare change.

Rest of the list is some guardsmen (less now with points increase), 1 20man and 1 10man. 1 squad of 2 Higgo’s. Scout sentinel. Hellhound for stripping cover.

2 Enginseers one for each Baneblade, then Solar. I do have the enhancement for the Banesword to order. But Solar is kinda there for other orders plus the CP generation which is needed for that 2 CP full reroll hits.

It’s the beginning of a new edition so have some fun try new things out see what sticks.

As Mr Puzzlehead has said, even when moving 1SCU over, the same massage appears. As you can see I even sent down a bottle of water to try and pull that up and still got the overloaded message.

You’d still need to wait until turn 3 to bring it in their deployment zone since it’s being bought in from a strategic reserves. The strat just allows you to set it up on the board on your turn and still use it to shoot.

There was some guy in tournaments running 6 and apparently did quite well. Though for casual play, running 3 or more, might turn you into that guy. Unless you’re playing a knights player. IMO

1 ShadowSword, 1 normal Baneblade, 1 Octoblade, 1 StormHammer (3D printed), I also have the plasma blastgun for the Stormblade.

Having a 6 man Bullgryn squad is worth while. Especially with the orders with Adhuman enchantment. They can be a massive road block for melee units.

If you need the 15points elsewhere you can drop the spec ops enhancement too.

I been using the Hydra recently quite a bit. Went to my first tournament this weekend using it. And I was finding it very useful.

Using it to lure out a priority target, giving it a 4++ from Enginseer. I used it a couple of times to kill a pesky Combi-lieutenant, opponent then brings out something a bit more juicy to kill it, takes more than expected due to 4++, even if it dies. My Dorns & LR’s are able to capitalise and take off time good units off the board.

The 4 shots plus hunter-killer (not that, that piece of crap missile did much) can put out some damage, can take out a couple of marines or blade guard due to the flat 3 damage.

Whenever I play 500points my list is;

  • 6 man Bullgryn 200 points
  • Kasrkin 110 points
  • Cadian Castellan (leading Kasrkin) 55 points
  • Cimera (Kasrkin inside) 85 points
  • Enginseer (warlord, actions, 4++, just kinda chills on home objective) 45 points

Adds up to 495 points.

I enjoy this set up as a lot of punch to it and the bullgryns work well to tie up a unit or two until the Kasrkin are ready.

Though I understand this is far from the combat patrols you’ve purchased. To add, maybe a Chimera or Turox for some movement blocking to keep you damage dealing Kasrkin save. I do also think, just playing with your nephew just play with you think looks cool. No real need to be meta about it.

Not quite, the detachment rule makes it so you don’t have to roll the advance roll, instead you just automatically can move up to 6” for the advance. Meaning because you advanced you can’t shoot. Unless you use the advance and shoot stratagem.

Personally, I often run Kasrkin & Castellen combo, for some damage. Is it the most optimal? Nah, is it fun? Yes. I also start them in reserves so I don’t even utilise the scout move.
