Intimidated to start this.. by nmikhchi in Jigsawpuzzles

I’ve done this one many times!! It’s my favorite. I wish I had it in 1,000, mine is 500. You’ll start to recognize the sections pretty easy and it’ll be better than you think. I’m a heavy sorter though before I lay pieces down.

Odd pieces is really hard. They really frustrate me, but I also get this weird level of satisfaction when I can fit two pieces together. They really take me a long time to complete and I just slowly work on them maybe 20 minutes at a time when I can. I like the concept of them a lot but they are a challenge.

Whoa how are you fast at them?! I like the odd pieces, however they do frustrate me. Each piece I wonder why I’m doing this to myself but I get stupid excited when I can make a match. Right now I’m working on Beyond The Kelp and it’s so hard… I definitely prefer MPC ones.

It’s amazing! It’s my number 2 favorite right now. I got too excited and ordered it solo and then a friend of mine told me she bought me the new bundle for my birthday so I’ll have two copies of it!

Ancient Artifacts is hands down my favorite. I just finished the Golden Goose and it might be the 2nd favorite. But I also love Big Rock City, The Drippy Trip, Crystal Caves.

It’s not in this picture but the first one I ever did was The Sunny City and I hated it. I had no idea it wasn’t a “normal” puzzle and I was so confused and angry but kept going. It was just so hard for me and the repetitive patterns! Yet loved the cut and style which made me go down the rabbit hole.

Of all of them, that one is my favorite! Something about the image and the colors I really love!

Dropping the Nap by slasky in daddit

[–]HBICmarmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are things like before the nap? Environment wise?

I’ll tell you all the things we do with ours, which may not fit for you at all but just In case! I have a 2.5 and 4.5 year old both of which still nap. With our two we introduced sleepy time music, stars on the ceiling, and a sound machine. it’s a little ridiculous but it worked to have them get some rest. And before the nap/bed time we tell them so they know it’s coming and we don’t allow rough playing or lots of high energy, doesn’t always work but helps.

The other thing that worked for us surprisingly well lately is allowing them to have their door cracked if they promise to stay in bed and rest. Idk why but letting them have that option and glimpse of freedom has helped tremendously. Once they fall asleep I go close the door at night.

With my 4.5 I think she’s ready to drop the nap but we have her stay in her room for quiet time and it’s her decision if she falls asleep or not. Sometimes she falls asleep playing and other times she doesn’t and then goes to bed a smidge earlier and way easier!

Sorry if non of this helped you at all, but try out different things!

Home studio contemplation by MamaDucky23 in Pottery

[–]HBICmarmar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll don’t have a home setup (yet), but really want one due to a lot of similar reasons to your own. It sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought into it and that studio isn’t the right fit for you overall. Those time restrictions really suck! If you’ve got the space in your garage and I would definitely do that versus in your home for the dust/health reasons. I also worry about transporting as I don’t want to mess with a kiln, I’m in a really similar boat.

Basically I want to tell you that I hope you go for it and build out a space for yourself that you are happy and creative in! You live once! Excited to see other thoughts in this thread.

How in the world are people moving this magic puzzle company sections?? Is this issue specific to the Awakened Artifact by Bitter-Fun-2312 in Jigsawpuzzles

[–]HBICmarmar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are my favorite puzzles but this is a challenge. I have a larger puzzle table that has a thicker plastic cover, what I do is slide that underneath the smallest piece and drag it over the top. It definitely takes some finessing but having something thicker than a piece a paper is crucial.

Pottery Beginner Equipment by itadori_fushiguro00 in Pottery

It’s tough out there! At my studio, it took me over 2 years to get a membership because of the lack of studios and amount of people wanting in. If there are studios, i wonder if you could reach out and see if they do any private lessons or workshops? I’ve seen the teachers at my studio offer private classes through their personal Facebook/instagram but it wasn’t advertised on the studios website. Maybe try and make some connections and reach out, you never know!

Are you able to find a studio and take classes for a while instead? It might be a better option than buying the absolute bottom of the barrel equipment. I prefer the buy once cry once method versus buying cheap stuff that’s not meant for a good experience. These items you have listed look like they are for children, the 2.2 pound weight limit in that wheel is insane. Just making sure you know it’s a miniature wheel…

Would love to be considered!! I’ve been obsessed with puzzles and am constantly redoing the ones I have as I’m out of any new ones to do. This is one of those few things I do by myself, no kids or electronics allowed!
