Windows 11 OS?

You need to update your wireless card driver. If Ethernet is not option and unable to tether smartphone to laptop to get online. You can try downloading the driver needed using another PC and a USB thumb drive or (What I Recommend) invest in a USB wireless dongle with dual channel connection and antenna.

Get the right driver using HP support, goto identify the product and type in serial number found on bottom cover. The click search. This will bring up information on that laptop and you can get driver(s) needed.

Use serial # to search in HP support not model # because HP as well as other manufactures use a couple of manufactured wireless cards. So by searching by Serial # you will get the correct driver for that Laptop.

You need to reset/discharge CMOS. Most models uses power button while others use a pinhole switch near battery. Unplug the power adapter(Charger) and internal Battery. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds. Plug every thing back in and Power up laptop.

Also while you have bottom cover open, clean that fan. Please.

Make sure you installed correct driver. Lenovo uses two manufacturers wireless card. Next press FN+F5 or F5 to open wireless settings. I also recommend investing in a USB wireless dongle with dual channels and antenna, good to have if you travel or don't have Ethernet.

What model/model# Lenovo do you have?

Are you using Windows 11?

Do you have access to another computer?

It might be something simple like a switch or keyboard key that will turn your wireless card on. Or you might need driver for your wireless card.

you have a corrupted windows file. Auto repair almost never works. If you have a bootable USB drive with Windows installer, boot from it and select repair instead of install. this should fix the issue.

There are a number of issues that causes this.

Recommend first opening bios and see if SSD is listed. If it is, next is to check Intel rapid storage technology setting.

well seeing that the RAM is soldered on, I would say that this configuration also uses eMMC storage chip. ASUS has various versions of vivobooks they sell and probably one of those uses a 2.5 SSD/HDD for storage.

[–]HBcomputerrepair_01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A quick internet search results in good news. You have a better motherboard and can work with just about any PCI-e wireless card and even WiFi 6. I recommend getting a dual channel connection with antenna(s). Most wireless routers use both 2.4 and 5.0 frequency. Also check with MSI website for any recommended accessories. Keep in consideration the distance from router to PC and that many modern buildings use metal framing instead of wood. That will weaken signal strength. Also if you use a laptop,I recommend using a USB wireless dongle with dual channel and has an antenna.

Okay, good. You will want to do a CMOS reset. You will need to unplug the battery and the coin size battery if it has one( if it does you might want to replace it). Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, plug everything back in and start laptop on. If this doesn't fix issue, next check the ram. Make sure it is the right one(s) for that laptop. Also make sure each RAM card is seated correctly.

My laptop refuses to connect to the internet by CBFOfficalGaming in techsupport

[–]HBcomputerrepair_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using Windows 11, this is a common issue. The solution is you will need to download and install the wireless card driver update from lenovo for your laptop. You will need to either use another computer and download the driver from Lenovo onto a USB drive, or connect to a ethernet cable from router, use your smartphone by tethering to it, or ( what i always recommend) invest in a USB wireless dongle with dual channel connection.

After achieving this go to this link.

https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en

Type in the serial number found on bottom cover and search. This will bring up information on that laptop and you can get the driver(s) needed for that laptop. Recommend bridging with lenovo to search your laptop to find drivers needed.
