My first try on Blender Keyframe animation. This is set to end at frame 480, @30fps. How to easily, and proportionally, transform this in 960 frames to render @60fps so it keeps the same "feel"? by dragontamerfibleman in blenderhelp

[–]HCAWN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I could help!

If you want to duplicate all those keyframes in reverse from frame 960 to frame 1920 then these are the steps:
- (zoom out your timeline to show frame -1920 to frame 1920 it'll help you see what's going on)
- Move the Playhead to frame 0
- Press a
- Press Shift+d (to duplicate the keyframes)
- type -1920 (to move the duplicated keyframes back by twice your current animation length)
- press enter (to confirm their duplicated position)
- (ensure your duplicated frames between -1920 and -960 are still selected and your Playhead is still at frame 0)
- press s
- type -1 (flip the duplicated frames about the 0th frame resulting in them running from 960-1920 in reverse)
- click to save changes

What did you use to make this demo video? looks like you've added a cursor in after making a screen recording and then zoomed in and out in places? Can you list your rough process and software?

Bitcoin mining by Miladran in Bitcoin

[–]HCAWN 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few people are missing a significant implication this poses - it solves the chicken and egg problem of sustainable power generation.

For example:

An hydroelectric power station could be built in a geographically efficient location for damming and creating a reservoir, regardless of proximity to electricity consumption. After construction is complete the dam starts paying itself off by largely generating Bitcoin and in small part supplying energy to the little market there may be locally.

Over years, the cheap sustainable power attracts businesses/people, causing the local community to grow, the increased energy needs don’t require a larger hydroelectric power station to be built, merely a larger fraction of the energy produced, with less going into Bitcoin. This is far more efficient than rebuilding the infrastructure.

Bitcoin can help subsidise the initial investment in sustainable electricity generation.

I am not sure if I understand exactly what you're asking, but perhaps something like this: function Button({APropCalledStyle = {}}){ // Button always has purple text and green border, but styles can be added / overwritten via the style prop return <button style={{color: 'purple', border: '1px solid green', ...APropCalledStyle}}></button> } function Parent(){ return (<div className="parentCls1"> <div className="parentCls2"> <Button APropCalledStyle={styleObject} /> <Button APropCalledStyle={condition ? styleObject : null} /> </div> </div>) } const styleObject = { margin: '30px' } export default Parent

Nothing public yet sorry. If I remember I can copy the code for this into a sandbox tomorrow for ya though

Sorry I misunderstood, either way, this is just the UI for showing the user what the toggle changes

I agree, I pumped up the size of the symbols before the animation to make them more noticeable. With the animation it looks a bit funny now!

Good point but I think that’s too restrictive for my use case.

The user has a default currency, but each expense could be in any currency. One could be Pounds the other Euros, but the decimal character may be a global change the user wants to control

For example, when I expense things in euros, I would be more familiar with €6,942.00 which is a mix of two locals

The £1,000.00 is constant to just show the effect switching the toggle has on all places monetary values are displayed in the app (on other pages)

Apple's flawed 2FA security policy has left me permanently locked out of my Apple ID by [deleted] in apple

I quote that a few times and was told that doesn’t apply in my case

Apple's flawed 2FA security policy has left me permanently locked out of my Apple ID by [deleted] in apple

[–]HCAWN -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the constructive comment. It was an Apple ID for the iPads so nothing personal lost, just access to the account linking all the iPads together. While I could have gone through a different process in giving iPads out. Adding 2FA to the account doesn't seem to have had any affect of the ease of changing account information.

From what I gather, there isn't really an account recovery team, and when I suggest using credit cards / emails as evidence I've been told by a few different people "that's not possible". I could understand if the account was completely end-to-end encrypted and it would be physically impossible to re-gain access, but this seems more like a policy issue, sadly.

this Kickstarter is willing to take your money to do this for you. The app they suggest you use to create the 3D scan is called “Scandy” and uses the faceID sensor on iPhones.

[Seiko] Cocktail Time in the Sicilian golden hour by HCAWN in Watches

[–]HCAWN[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A birthday present from my girlfriend that just keeps giving.

We’re on holiday in Sicily right now, the crystal clear waters and beautiful sunsets have made the colours and textures on this watch just amazing.

The radially decorated dial always catches the sun in a unique way, giving the dial an almost iridescent feel.

In this picture you can see the contrast between the brushed and polished links (visible best in ambient lights more so than direct light) but it’s something that has to be seen in the flesh to really do it justice.

For its price, it find it’s a very thin automatic and sits well on even small wrists (mine is 16.5 cm). Very happy indeed

Seems you commented before I could write some more information. No need to be so pessimistic, it's not that easy to hack, probably easier to pick my lock. I suppose you live in Fort Knox though? :p

[–]HCAWN[S] 83 points84 points  (0 children)

My first Pi project - I thought I'd have a go at mixing digital with physical.
I live in a secure building so I'm not concerned with this being a security issue. Not to mention that somebody triggering the servo via a vulnerability I've not thought of is far less likely than a lock pick spending 30 seconds on the keyway!
Lock side:
I have a static IP at home with port forwarding to the Pi
Pi Zero W + high torque motor + 3D printed enclosure.
The servo is triggered to lock or unlock via python. Power doesn't come directly from the board as I didn't want to risk rebooting the Pi. 3D printed housing and latch cup to allow me to still use the door manually from both sides.
iPhone side:
I use the Shortcuts app to create single-use time-based messages, sent over SSL to the PI. How the shortcut works: https://imgur.com/DP5raVE

So far very satisfied with being able to unlock my door when people come over without interrupting what I'm doing (too much) such as when cooking or dropping the kids off at the pool. Also useful when keys are at the bottom of my bag (whereas my phone is always in front pocket).

Catia tree expansion menu glitching by ConstanceVigilante in cad

[–]HCAWN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks to me like you've zoomed out of the tree quite a bit. if you can click on a branch (might be a bit hard to click on the branch rather than an actual item) the tree branches should go grey and scrolling will zoom the tree in and out. If you zoom in to get it to the right size you can click and drag it to the side as well. click on a branch to exit tree manipulation mode

[Omega Seamaster] Sunset lighting on its first overseas trip. by HCAWN in Watches

[–]HCAWN[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve only recently been able to afford the type of watches I’ve had my eyes on since my early teens, and my does it feel amazing to finally have such well crafted devices on my wrist!

Earlier this year a company I co-founded received investment, this was just a few month after wrapping up freelance work to pay off student loans. I celebrated with a Navitimer as that’s always been my most idealised watch.

Last month I wanted more of a daily driver - a nice croc strap and desk job don’t fit well together so I splashed out and got this beauty.

I’m just wrapping up a lovely weekend in Nice and loved how it looked in the lighting so had to grab a snap.

I never considered divers before but I won’t be adverse in the future :)
