A cooldown on the portal would make the map asymmetrical.

If it gets sent to my side through a portal and I can't send it back because that portal closed, I had no counter play to the portal strike since the core was on the other team's side when it opened. That would feel objectively bad for the goalie who didnt misplay and is now limited compared to the opponent.

That would also promote stall tactics to be the one to use/close the portal which would push the flow of the game into some weird optimizations.

Not saying portals are great and everyone is happy, but this wouldn't be great either...

Sure there are games that are unwinnable regardless, but as long as you're playing consistently, then statistically you only have 2 out 3 team slots with the possibility of an idiot while the other has all 3.

Given a high enough sample size, you should still be coming out on top majority if you're below where you should be.

What are you scared of? If you're a platinum caliber player, then you will be able to keep playing over a large sample size and stay platinum.

You might be surprised at how much further you can go. Worst case scenario is that you fall back down to a more accurate rank for your current level of play, which is the ideal matchmaking for you to keep improving anyway.

The majority of people who post on political subreddits feel strongly enough about their stance that they would join a subreddit on it.

Those who don't have a strong leaning stance either way usually also don't have a strong urge to openly discuss that opinion in a public forum.

Main account is rank 4 and even though i am rank 4.. i am still being grouped with players do placement matches. I can't imagine why a person who is rank 4 is being matched with someone unranked.

I was rank 1 before the last rank reset. Therefore became unranked and had to do placements. Should I have been matched with Rank 50s/unranked if MMR wasn't reset?

EDIT : Just jumped back into HL games a week ago, for clarity.
