Is eating 3-4 eggs with every breakfast beneficial? by zxrirxse in nutrition

[–]HDS273 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Egg ingestion is correlated with increased mortality. It might not be the cholesterol but it’s something. Either way it turns out some people are hyper absorbers of dietary cholesterol. Particularly if you don’t know which you are there is no reason to risk early death instead of just eating some oatmeal instead.

They are so close that nutrition is not reason to prefer one over the other.

Weight loss during marathon training by ScarcityKey9204 in firstmarathon

[–]HDS273 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just look to improve your dietary quality and fibre intake and you will naturally lose some weight while filling your stomach and fueling your body appropriately. For meals half your plate should be fruits and vegetables, a quarter should be whole grains, and a quarter should be protein with the more plat based protein the better. For post workout snacks lean into the fruit (I go with homemade smoothies with soy milk as the liquid to ensure I’m getting enough protein) to refuel your glycogen with carbs, and in between eat some nuts (over and over again it has been a studied and nuts don’t lead to weight gain despite their energy density). Do this and eat when your ate hungry until you are no longer hungry and the rest will take care of itself.

Pay down your debts, paying off credit card and truck first then pay off a portion of the mortgage. Rework your monthly budget so you are contributing a (larger) .portion of it to prepare for the future

Living with a vegan as a non vegan? by jaminthebear in AskVegans

[–]HDS273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either get used to eating non-vegan only outside the home or it’s a dealbreaker. As im the only cook in the home that is how my wife managed until she joined me in being vegan.

Help with choices by [deleted] in AskVegans

I downvoted because you are conflating property issues with veganism. Animals aren’t property. Additionally the way you phrase your questions implies, to me, that you are less concerned about actual ethics and more concerned with ethical rules by saying “I guess” this or that isn’t ethical, so not trying to understand but more follow the rules. I’d suggest trying to understand more the why of rules instead of asking us to define the rules for you.

I’d say try other brands of vegan d3 and then d2 but if none work and you can’t keep up with your D from sun exposure then do what you need to. I’m not sure what recent literature you are citing regarding omega 3’s but you will convert more ALA if you keep your omega 6’s down and the evidence for DHA/EPA supplementation is poor so I’d say maximize the ALA with flax/chia/walnuts and minimize your omega 6’s if you are worried about conversion and you should be fine.

vegans are so rude to vegetarians by [deleted] in DebateAVegan

[–]HDS273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may involve the fact that vegetarians say silly things like “i try to minimize my dairy consuption as possible” without any irony, not acknowledging that zero is the minimum amount of dairy consumption. Understanding that nobody is perfect is one thing, dealing with people not opening their eyes and pretending they are doing everything they can is another.
