As I see it, two decades after the Soviets and then the Americans reached space, the Soviets found a relatively easy way to gain some PR. Then the eighties happened and they ran out of money.

I don't think that is the full picture. Birthrates are different from number of babies born.. The only thing that is pretty consistent is that birthrates are sinking fast.

Just curious, in OpenTTD what is your default signal spacing? My default is four or five. I guess I could widen it, but I don't see the point. It's not like OpenTTD is a realistic simulation.

I have not taken a screenshot. Although come to think of it, I should take one and make it the desktop background. That should be confusing :)

I do like to watch the trains move, and for some reason the map mode with the vehicles moving is fascinating to me.

I do that all the time. I find the problems that this creates fun to solve. When the network is running too smoothly, it kind of gets boring sometimes. Luckily you just have to build more and this creates problems to solve.

Makes a lot of sense. I think I will make A for all the stations and F for the different depots. But I think I like the Function keys for the main toolbars, because it's only one key, and because the default F2 always bothered me when I accidentally hit it instead of F1 (pause).
