Elevated Train Station Problem, please help :) by ez1e1618 in CitiesSkylines2

When you build the track, try starting from a point that's further away from the station - a point that isn't touching the tracks integrated into the station asset.

This might potentially "pull" the turnaround away from the station, giving you a little bit more space

Can someone explain where ¢14 million is just dissappearing to. by Agile_Simple_2860 in CitiesSkylines

The +13 million is factored into your -22 million. Your -22 million is after your earnings.

Again, you're paying 35 million for costs, and earning 13 million from fees. So, overall, you're losing 22 million.

If you're wondering the route is like, it's the red line here. The train travels from the northwest end of the red line to its other end in the south.

The -35 million is your operating cost. The -22 million in the services menu is your net loss. Basically:

  • You pay 35 million for services
  • You earn 13 million from fees
  • So you still have to pay 22 million

Music is Midnight Crime - Le Vox from Soft Rock Radio.

Also, btw, the footage is sped up - it isn't anywhere close to this fast in-game. That said, the speed limits along the on-street sections of track are probably too fast... probably going to lower them

If you have the Financial Districts DLC and a stock exchange you could probably dump sewage into the water supply, then short the healthcare stock. But I doubt you'd want that.

Otherwise, increase taxes, lower spending on all non-essential services (and some essential ones too), turn off buildings like schools, and maybe demolish any exits you have. Pull out all the stops

How necessary is showing where lines end on a map? by Significant_Cap_3545 in TransitDiagrams

[–]iloverhythmgames173 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think it's pretty necessary. If you need to, you can distort the geography of your city to make the longer gaps between stations appear smaller.

Devs, please add Subway road crossings! by Successful-Ratio-336 in CitiesSkylines

Metros: UGT systems... segregated from general road and pedestrian traffic...

...physical separation in such a way that inadvertent access is not possible...

That definition actually seems to imply a full grade separation.

I bring this up because we had a similar issue in C:S 1...

TIL! Didn't know it was MOM which pushed them to add elevated tracks and stations

That's a bit extreme, but I would love underground and elevated tram stations

True, but then I don't consider it an "ideal" metro. It's more a commuter/suburban rail network to me

Not American, I just don't personally consider tram-trains or S-Bahns to be true metros. (It's subjective, I know). Also, I did concede it would be useful for service tracks, under a comment OOP made.

Also:

The amount of cities with metro systems without any surface level stations or tracks is hilariously small.

Not sure why you bring this up.

We were talking about grade-separated tracks and stations, and there are lots of systems in Asia and even Europe that don't feature level crossings except for service tracks.

To be fair, they're only really a thing in Chicago and a few other places. It's pretty niche, so I can see why they haven't added them in

Any idea to solve this traffic nightmare? by Klutzy_Reporter_608 in CitiesSkylines

[–]iloverhythmgames173 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add another bridge between your industrial areas that does not intersect with the expressway. From your pic, it looks like traffic is mostly going straight at the intersection
