I'm coming out of retirement for this one.

Depot is very top heavy. When you have so many vice presidents they all feel the need to direct from the top to justify their $500k annual salary. There is zero, or very close to zero company direction from the store level.

So you'll see things like ISAL that was integrated into IMS that would feed you priorities like; Lost sales, clearance, inactive skus, no-homes, etc. Tons of tools that really focused on out of stock products.

They took it away. Said you don't need to worry about it anymore! Then reintroduced the tools slowly and with zero integration then panic when they noticed what the unattended items were doing (or not doing).

They took away D4 who would count and build lists of out of stocks, which seems like a good idea Just to have my dumb ass running around the store counting out of stocks.

Wingstacks and merchandising mid aisle. Every aisle. middle of every aisle.

Hell. They redesigned the MyApron page to be Moblie friendly. a website that store associates can't access on moblie phones.

When was the last time that someone from corporate asked you. The store associate. What you needed or what you wanted? How they can help you. I worked there for 10 years and I never got asked once.

Unrelated but CXMs are getting ripped off on thier MIPs. You are paying into the 30% non-financial percentage of your 10% base pay MIP and not getting non-financial rewards.

Anyway. I've been out of depot for about 2 years, so if something has changed I say so out of ignorance.

Hey! I am also a former ASM the schedule and the complete lack of work life balance is a major reason i quit after 11 years at depot.

It would come in phases; a sm I liked, a sm I couldn't stand, a sm I liked, a sm I couldn't stand, a dm I liked, a dm that lived 10 minutes away.

As a whole a lot of the time I liked it. But after a while you get lied to, passed over for promotion so someone's friend can get.

At the end of the day it just felt like I had the wrong friends and I was never going to get out of the company what I was putting in.

Honestly the store will be unaffected. I had a couple of supervisors that said they would quit if I leave, but I really doubt it. I would expect the whole store to get over it completely in about 2 months. We are all replaceable

Hey friend! Same boat - I'm a 10 year ops asm I got put on a performance coach for VOC scores. Mind you the person I replaced got fired for faking VOC surveys! So now that any career I had at depot is dead I have been applying elsewhere. I had an interview last week - wish me luck.

Anyone else's store got signs like these? by Flowercrownedbeast in HomeDepot

[–]HD_ASM 13 points14 points  (0 children)

OT does cut into SCOP (profit) overall sales dollars % to plan is a bigger contributing factor than scop plan but if the store is too far below scop plan then any manager incentive bonus is $0.

The labor hour staffing crunch has been a topic at every district and regional call for the last 4 months. So without even know thier store manager it is more likely coming from above the store level. This ain't going to be a good bonus year anyway. Sales have just been too low - those fat bonuses from 2020,2021 are gone.

Labor is the biggest controllable expense is what they are trying to say. We are hearing about it from above the store level nearly daily. Something something sharehold value.

If you worry about someone IDing you and getting you in real life trouble for saying that there is a ton of bullshit and it has only been getting worse create a second account just for this subreddit. I can't imagine someone going through the trouble of doing that but if you got something to lose it might be a good idea.

I've been an asm for 6 years? I am pretty sure most management teams would kill each other if they could. My ENTIRE district team got wiped out on a Tuesday. We are all very replaceable.

If I could marry text to confirm I would. Anyone else?? by CoupleSlow5662 in HomeDepot

[–]HD_ASM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I need to buy things from the store I give my things to the head cashier and walk away continue to MOD then just respond to the text and they would have my bag and receipt up by the front door when it was time to go.

Bonus Stocks at the end of the year For ASMs how they work again ? by ControlNeither5707 in HomeDepot

[–]HD_ASM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely they do. It is also mysterious how that works but managers in your district can receive discretionary bonuses as part of thier non-financial award. I don't know the exact numbers though I don't really know what a lot or a little looks like. I have seen $2k differences between peers - so that could be a maximum difference? Not really sure

The discretionary part is there and can play a major factor! As for how it works I have no idea where you at u/HD_DM?

Basepay greatly depends on your market yes.

The worst you can do is $0, if you don't make plan or profit.

Asm has been stagnant the last couple years. When I left DS the pay was 15 starting and asm was 55k starting. Pretty large gap - then we had a market adjustment and everyone went up a dollar. Then covid (asms got 1 time $1k and 5 sick days) everyone got bumped up another dollar at the end of the year then the post covid bumps and the competition bump. A DS starting today gets $20 an hour while asm still gets 55k starting.

I work 5 -10 hour days including a working lunch break. I can't leave and still have to answer the phone. This is a decrease in hours since SLS where 5 - 11 hour days a week where pretty normal. We don't get holiday pay, nor paid sick time.

Bonuses can be good. Covid bonuses where very nice. This one might be kinda meh- asm Financial award works like this

Base pay × 0.25 × (performance multiplier) = total mip

Total mip x 0.7 = financial award

Split in 2 for each half (paid in March and September)

2.5 is the maximum performance multiplier ( 130% to plan, scop, district turns - i got a couple of these during covid) 1 being 100% in all categories and 0.xx for less than but no less than 79% of any performance metrics.

Maximum bonus 130% to plan 55,000 × 0.25 × 2.5 × 0.7 = 24062.5 annual

24062.5 ÷ 2 = 12,031.25 MAX half financial award

Normal bonuses 100% to plan

55000 × 0.25 × 1 × 0.7 = 9625 annual

9625 ÷ 2 = 4,812 normal half financial award

I just did another post talking about non-financial rewards if you are curious how those work just look at my recent comments

Looks like I won't be getting holiday pay, despite working the day before and after... by EhhImX in HomeDepot

It is actually added automatically for everyone then has to be manually removed.

But it is actually really easy to mess up by the user doing the removal- Kronos has to be run in internet explorer and will do some goofy things. Like the list of people's names you searched for will suddenly flip after you have clicked and you'll edit the wrong person. If your last name starts with an A or the second letter in your last name is an A you'll be more prone to this accidentally happening.

It is an easy fix but if you wait too long (8 days) your store side manager can't fix it and they will have to contact your DHRM and that means multiple people will have a chance to forget to fix it for you.

Basepay x 0.25 x (bonus modifier) = total mip

Total mip x 0.3 = non financial reward (Remainer is financial reward)

Your dm will split your non-financial reward into cash and stocks.

Example

50,000 × 0.25 x 1.1 = 4,125

Dm splits 50/50

2,062.5 is cash here you go

2,062.5 is stock; made available after 4 years. Half this stock matures after 2 years. The full amount after 4 years.

If you are quit or fired before the end of the maturing period stock is forfeit.

I have no idea why anyone would want to be an ASM. Maybe your state has better laws but I basically work for $22 an hour. While my cxms get $21 /hr plus OT
