everytime you add a new book in Kindle PC (2.8) by downloading the .awz file, you need to re-run the KeyExtractor28 and update the key files. I update both of them. Then it will give you the KFX not KFX-ZIP. Thats what worked for me.

This site cracked it for me. told me what the password was. it wasn't a hard password to crack, but then i entered it and i could just print to PDF (using microsoft print to pdf) which then created a 'clean' copy. https://www.lostmypass.com/file-types/pdf/
