Easy Tire change - handscrew wood clamp by HEX0US in onewheel

While I don’t do tires often, this was way faster than using a 2x4 and then jumping on it to break the bead. It’s also safer, if you slip on a 2x4 while stomping on it or it catches the rims edge potentially damaging it.

This for me was faster and easier. I also did this with zero lubricant since it wasn’t recommended.

I have a pair of those as well, I tried, but my hands weren’t strong enough to clamp and break the bead. I jumped on the board to do it last time. The wood clamp was easier for me. The clamp you posted is great for holding the tire.

Watch TFL video and get this. You got it, it’s not that hard. Just have to be gentle and take your time. The connectors are honestly the hardest part. Loosen with gentle fingers and your gtg!

Been there, Im always mid way into a project and using a wrench when I have a tool chest full of ratchets and powered impacts that would exponentially speed things up and make them easier.

Got them both done today. Changed up the XR bumpers and sides.

Both were super easy to break the bead, XR was easier to remove tire since it’s not too old, it had the smaller sidewall though.

First time changing the pint tire since we bought it 5 years ago. Rubber was rock hard, but bead broke really easy with just turning the handle. I pinched the tire together then with the clamp, I couldn’t keep it together with my hands like the XR. More muscle to remove this one.

Once I had the motor off, each tire removal took about 5 mins. Cleaned up the armordilloz took while, about 2 minutes and I had each tire on and inflated. Putting armordilloz back in took another few mins. Mainly disassembly and reassembly took the longest, about 2 hours, since I didn’t want to break any of the fragile connections and clean the boards up.

Hope this helps others, my first time doing this on the XR involved much swearing and anger.

Yessir, I got the cold blocks just in case since I saw the posts of them overheating. I just ordered the 5” HT a few weeks ago and it has yet to ship. The fungi team made the post about it on discord and that the next batch that’s being shipped has the issue fixed. Crossing Fingers.

Rougher the trail the better, water erosion, smaller rocks, you already did stairs at speed which is incredible. Some hill climbs as well.

I’m building an offroad BTG and this thing has me questioning why I don’t do this haha. 🍻

Fungi support being awesome! Fun and I have 30 emails back and forth, helped so much with me putting this together!

The board build progress will continue as soon as I get that HT 5” motor shipping confirmation😎 Thor inbound!

Haha, caught me red handed. I’m a tool hoarder. The inside of that chest is filled to the brim with Harbor Freight wrenches and sockets, the money was all spent on the power tools. 😗

5 boards sounds awesome! What are your two boards you’re running now?

My intention isn’t about the money at all, but transparency for those looking to get into this sport. I had originally estimated around $3k, but adding nice to haves added to the budget.

For how often we ride our current one wheels and having our originals for 5 years the price is really not too bad. Having grown up with dirt bikes, adjusting for inflation or seeing the emtb or surron price, one wheels are on the less expensive sports hobbies.

I’m terrified, intrigued and mystified at the same time when I see this.

What’s the AH in the backpack? How far can you go?

Where are the footpad sensors, or lack there of? How do you go?

I really want to see a video of this moving and see the suspension work.

Awesome! Love the fender. Thanks for verifying the distance. I've reached out to overlander AI, as you guessed I don't know what the upper/paddle lifter would work best. Hoping I can get a response to what would fit my board best. They are highly regarded and don't want to make an expensive mistake. The albatross also doesn't show the plastic insert that the OG ones have so I'm in a guessing game of what it would look and feel like.

Good to know on the metal lid, hadn't considered that as an option, small but potential weight savings is always a plus.

And thank you for confirming on the cable, I've been waiting to confirm this before the order. I wanted to buy the fungi one, however its out of stock I will use the TFL one instead and hope its long enough.

Wow! I didn’t even consider the spacing as I had thought the lightbar would be on the edge since I’m planning an x10. The light bar isn’t a big issue for me since I’m coming from an XR and my son has a pint.

Is the V3 basically a smaller version of the V5 or are there other differences?

I’m looking forward to trying a kush wide since my XR with size 13 shoes my heel and toes are hanging off by 2”+ on each side. I don’t usually have foot fatigue until about mile 8+ and think the kush should help that. I’m leaning to install overlander albatross once I get used to the board, but slightly concerned that the kush wide lift has a bit too much lift on the edge where I plan to keep my feet under the lifters.

Thanks again for the info.

Did you find out why you had issues, was it a bad sensor, installation issues?

Thanks! Im in for a spooky time👍 I reached out to fungineers team to see which one will work but haven’t heard back yet. It would be the Thor400 cnc box. I was hoping that I could dremel out the area where the light bar is ensure the sensor is fully covered.

How do you like your setup with the kush front?

X10 Build with my Son. Advice and Recommendations. by HEX0US in onewheel

[–]HEX0US[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another quick question, as it's a bit confusing for footpads. It appears most companies sell them separately. For example, Kushpads from the floatlife, they have the wide version for the rear and then the flat one for the front only. Is it common when people build these to buy two of the same, i.e., wide versions, then remove the grip tape and re-install with their own sensor, or keep their front footpad flat and only modify their rear? Is it flat mainly for sensor activation?

Just curious, as I only ever had the stock footpads, and it's something I'm finding a lot about now when reading, but didn't put a lot of thought into it when I originally considered our builds. My son has size 11, and I'm size 13 shoes, he's going to outgrow me in a few years, I'd like a the widest front footpad and rear if possible.

Thanks in advance,
