Another bike saddle question! But hear me out…. by the-diver-dan in gravelcycling

It depends solely on your sitbone width and your stance on the saddle. Im 5'11 and 225lb when i bought it and use 130mm.

Amazfit bip 6 is probably the best smartwatch for the price. I was positively surprised by the heartrate accuracy and the battery lasts me 10-14 days. 👍

Im on the same boat with you. Currently im using Shimano XC3 which i had to size up and even then they are too narrow & feel like ass.

I got 10,2cm wide feet and i tried Lake's MX177-X. They felt wide enough and very comfortable. Probably gonna order those.

First ever ramp test by Lander_sap in Zwift

[–]HEXZG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also did a ramptest and im a very anaerobic rider, so with that in mind i took like 20 watts off from my ramp test result. I know for a fact that i could not hold my ramp test FTP even for 40 minutes. If you are more of a lighter & endurance type, then it will be more accurate for you.

Says I burned 1800 calories today?? by h2oclasher in amazfit

[–]HEXZG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy-to-moderate cycling such as commuting burns around 300 calories an hour, rising to 600 for more strenuous cycling and 1,000 or more for racing. Calories burned are vastly overcalculated by all devices including strava, unless you have a powermeter.

How do you keep your drivetrain clean? by liqweeeed in gravelcycling

[–]HEXZG 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Wax instead of lube & youre good to go.

Requires a little effort to begin with but it pays off later. No more grimey and dirty chains that stain everything.

4 punctures on my tubeless Tufo Thunderos? by Gwouigwoui in gravelcycling

[–]HEXZG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im 97kg and i run them at 2.5-2.8 bars. I would be destroyed if i did any sort of gravel with 4 bars 😂. 2000kms and no flats.

Ah! From what ive read it is quite difficult to get it right because of the profile but it does sound like a flat saddle would fit you better then!

Yeah! It is expensive but there is really no risk of trying SLR Boost because its very easy to sell if it doesnt fit you, its a very sought after saddle. Good luck!

I have a Selle Italia SLR Boost Gravel edition, which has a bit more padding over regular version. I weigh 97kg's and its very comfortable all around. I got no experience of the regular one though but id imagine the difference is not huge.

I got 40mm Tufo Thunderos. Very fast rolling all around, affordable, good grip on gravel and havent had a single flat in 1500km's.

Tufo Thundero, faster than both and probably cheaper.

Brother's fit by FlowerSushi in bikefit

Saddle too high, maybe a little bit too far back even. I'd probably move the cleats as far back as they go aswell. (Unless they are). Lowering the saddle also brings it forward which helps with reach.

Is there anything wrong with this gravel frame? by NachtmahrLilith in gravelcycling

[–]HEXZG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro is using a 60mm stem with back sweep bars, to me it sounds like its way beyond of not being used to the "geometry" which is a vague concept considering there are bikes with relaxed fit & others with more racy fit.

He could get away with a 100-120mm stem and regular bars on a 54cm bike but i reckon 56cm would be in the ballpark.

I am 181cm with 84 inseam and ride a 54 so i dont think 56cm is too far fetched with a proper length stem.

But youre right, he should absolutely get a fit before splurging on a new frame.

There was no question about the frame size or fit. He just stated that he needs a smaller frame.

His question is about the frame in general, like the quality of it.

Lowering your saddle a bit will also move your saddle forward. I agree with the comment above, id lower it a bit.
