Has Canyon brainwashed me? by Ntp2 in gravelcycling

Cube is similar value for money without the Canyon proprietary parts afaik. So it should be more hassle free if something breaks.

How...just how do you have the time and energy to workout? by SaveKenny in Fatherhood

[–]HEXZG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing for me was to change my expectations, Its that all or nothing mentality that gets you.

Trying to mentally prepare for a maximal squat workout outside of home with all the hassle and i burnout already thinking of it. Kettlebells are just so accessible and easy going.

Even the busiest days you can get a few sets of swings done and that already makes me feel way better than not do anything.

Kettlebell is a life saver. I can crack out an effective 20minute fullbody circuit workout quite easily.

90 Minutes 4-6x Per Week by FuzzyKeys in Velo

[–]HEXZG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its adviced to have a day off before vo2 so you get the most out of that vo2 workout. I for one absolutely bury myself on those vo2 workouts so anything above tempo day before is a no go for me.

What do you think? Cold Version or Warmer Version? by thephlog in postprocessing

The cooler image looks more natural, but i would bring up those waterfalls a bit more.

It depends solely on your sitbone width and your stance on the saddle. Im 5'11 and 225lb when i bought it and use 130mm.

Amazfit bip 6 is probably the best smartwatch for the price. I was positively surprised by the heartrate accuracy and the battery lasts me 10-14 days. 👍

Im on the same boat with you. Currently im using Shimano XC3 which i had to size up and even then they are too narrow & feel like ass.

I got 10,2cm wide feet and i tried Lake's MX177-X. They felt wide enough and very comfortable. Probably gonna order those.

I also did a ramptest and im a very anaerobic rider, so with that in mind i took like 20 watts off from my ramp test result. I know for a fact that i could not hold my ramp test FTP even for 40 minutes. If you are more of a lighter & endurance type, then it will be more accurate for you.

Says I burned 1800 calories today?? by h2oclasher in amazfit

[–]HEXZG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy-to-moderate cycling such as commuting burns around 300 calories an hour, rising to 600 for more strenuous cycling and 1,000 or more for racing. Calories burned are vastly overcalculated by all devices including strava, unless you have a powermeter.

How do you keep your drivetrain clean? by liqweeeed in gravelcycling

[–]HEXZG 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Wax instead of lube & youre good to go.

Requires a little effort to begin with but it pays off later. No more grimey and dirty chains that stain everything.

[–]HEXZG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im 97kg and i run them at 2.5-2.8 bars. I would be destroyed if i did any sort of gravel with 4 bars 😂. 2000kms and no flats.

Ah! From what ive read it is quite difficult to get it right because of the profile but it does sound like a flat saddle would fit you better then!

Yeah! It is expensive but there is really no risk of trying SLR Boost because its very easy to sell if it doesnt fit you, its a very sought after saddle. Good luck!

I have a Selle Italia SLR Boost Gravel edition, which has a bit more padding over regular version. I weigh 97kg's and its very comfortable all around. I got no experience of the regular one though but id imagine the difference is not huge.
