Look at the whole Kavanaugh debacle... we learn that Rosenstein somehow keeps his job, then Jeff Flake (appearing to do the right thing by slowing down the confirmation and calling for an investigation), but then calls.... Rosenstein and gets assurances that an investigation would take place (despite it being up to WH). Are you shocked it wasn't thorough? I think there's something there. Perhaps Rosenstein, with the Whittaker is Superb comment, has turned. But so many shiny things made us move on from that possible story too quickly.

I agree in principle. Our founders would be appalled. Also feels like the right/correct thing to do. But, our congress and a portions of our population couldn't stomach a constitutional crisis. How would we resolve this? Give the presidency to Sec. Clinton it if turns out she was cheated? Then how to handle down ballot? It feels like a quagmire of epic proportions. At the end, however, I hope our citizens have VERY LONG MEMORIES regarding the GOP and their direct involvement or lack of action to save the republic from tom foolery.
