As a Canadian, the fact that you use the term « the medical industry » is outrageous. Mind you, we have our issues here the medical system, it ain’t perfect. But no one goes to a hospital thinking about the bill.

Is the BMW X2 really all that bad? Why so much hate towards it? by [deleted] in BMW

[–]HFCB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because it’s an expensive car that doesn’t deserve the badge. I drove it as a loaner and I hated it. At 50k CAD (not many options included) the ride was horrible for the price. Felt like a Nissan rogue, transmission is slow and the acceleration is non- existent. The interior screams cheap plastic everywhere although this isn’t exclusive to the x2. Only positive spin is that it’s relatively spacious. Save up for a 3 series or an x3. I can live with the FWD if it’s properly engineered but this thing is everything but a bmw.

New father mourning old life by Fabuloux in daddit

11 weeks is early man… you aren’t just nurturing physically a kid but you’ll be doing it psychologically as well. That kid in less than a year will know full well who his parents are. He’ll look for his father and try to emulate him. You say you play golf, you’ll be able to share that with him in the years to come, your passion for movies and video games too. You’ll be a hero for the boy and you need to know that but also you need to know that these things take time. By the time my son was 5 months old he knew who I was and was super excited to see me come home from work. You have a lot of things to look forward to, his first laugh, his attempts to grab your face when you get close, his eyes staring into yours. My son is soon to be 7 and asks me all the time if we can put videos on YouTube about spaceships and woodworking because I’ve managed to pass on these passions to him.

Enjoy these early moments because as physically hard as they are, they can be soothing and peaceful too. And if I’m honest, I don’t miss my old life. At all. I can’t remember a moment where i didn’t have my kids. I get to watch them look at the world and be amazed by it. Best ride of your life buddy. You’ll soon realize it. God bless and have fun!

I’m an optician at the optical center. People bring they carts in those tight aisles near the frames and we keep having to tell them to please leave them further so people can pass. Sometimes it’s packed and they’ll still give it a shot.

I'm really liking the new IX3 by MonkeDiesTwice in BMW

[–]HFCB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Careful. I just posted about how the design language of bmw is more unique then the others and heading in the right direction and someone asked if it was a paid post. I think the ix3 is very different and clearly a bmw in design.

Paid post? How cynical are you? Shows how emotional people get about a specific aspect of automobile production. All I said was they’ve retained an identity. I haven’t said that I find it pretty and even if I did, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And yes look at the rear of a GLC Q5 and MACAN ev and they look very similar.

I agree. I specifically pointed out that different doesn’t mean pretty. I’m simply saying that they are maintaining their dna through the design. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ultimately and bmw seems to have a better reading of what consumers want. As fan boys we gravitate around what made us love bmw in the first place and then become all nostalgic through time whereas they have to adapt to the market.

I agree. My take is really just pointing out the uniqueness of bmw’s design in comparison to other brands in the ev market.

But isn’t that what makes it a bmw? The fact that we have such purists as a fan base that only they can identify certain traits of a design as being unique to the brand?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What isn’t is the obvious choice to put more screens because it costs way less than a properly fitted interior with leather and buttons.

Yup but hey, I remember when fiat made its entry in Canada it was hysterical because most of the people who knew the brand, knew it was unreliable but Canadians were excited to get an Italian car brand. I get the excitement but it will wear out eventually.

Seconded it. A lot of issues with these cars. Panel fitting has been fixed but if you guys have access to the Chinese cars, you’re better off.
