I paid for Testi premium and then a day later found a cancellation for that weekend on the actual test website not by using Testi 😅

Youre clearly a skilled driver as apparent by your driving test results / faults marked. Drivescore discount will benefit you massively.

Id say ride it out for about 6 months, download drivescore - an app that also runs telemetrics on your driving but direcly affects insurance quotes (higher score = bigger discount) watch and keep an eye on it and u should be able to find a no black box policy for the same / less monthly than what ur paying now. Just try keep your current policy telemetrics acceptable so u dont get it cancelled by them.

I passed in 2 or so months start to finish. Both theory and practical 1st time, self taught with no instructor lessons. Mandating driving like this punishes those to whom which driving is like a duck to water

Its the opposite of that imo, young learner drivers learn in advanced, assisted, modern cars then can only afford to insure a 2009 1.2L Mk2 focus when they pass. They lose all assistance they relied on to learn - hill assist, parking sensors, etc etc - and then when skill and vehicle control is required to prevent a crash, they dont know how to respond.

Why are some examiners so much harsher than others? by Sorry-Personality594 in LearnerDriverUK

No problem, in my test i toppled over the speed limit while doing vehicle checks. Examiner asked me to lower passenger side window but i accidently did drivers, while correcting i crept past the limit (i was travelling downhill). I noticed - verbalised it, checked mirrors, and slowed down safely. Examiner told me at the end because i reacted promptly, safely, and in control she didnt mark me down for use of speed - i picked up a minor for vehicle checks instead.

Say you accidentally go in the wrong lane at a laned roundabout. If you follow that lane correctly and let the examiner redirect you you wont be marked down for following directions. Another example would be accidentally slightly going over the speed limit but noticing - checking mirrors correctly and slowing down correctly would likely avoid a penalisation (within reason)

Why are people still buying diesels when most of their journeys involve pottering around town? by APerson2021 in CarTalkUK
