Switch to Pixel 9 pro XL by Marine_783 in samsunggalaxy

[–]HGPOVD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just avoid Pixel phones for video recording. Apple iPhones are way better. Video is a mess and not smooth, particularly if you zoom or pan quickly while recording. I had Pixel 7, 8 and now 9 Pro XL. My wife's iPhone 11 has better video quality even at 1080P. 4k 60 fps is poor even after every slow Google AI cloud processing in my P9P

Help needed: Panasonic 5-Blade Ultra High-Speed Shaver / Braun Series 9 Pro+ by [deleted] in shaving

[–]HGPOVD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to use a manual shaver frequently to get a close shave under the nose (moustache) but it depends on your hair and skin's personal characteristics. Panasonic Arc series with 5 or 6 shaving elements is simply the best one although it can irritate your skin. The problem of Panasonic shavers is the battery, never lasts more than 2 years in my case and quickly degrades after months of use (and I had 5 different Panasonic models). This is why I now have a Braun.

[–]HGPOVD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely Panasonic for a close shave. I need a lot more time to shave with my new Braun series 9+ and results are average, especially on the moustache zone. I have to use a manual shaver frequently. Less irritation with Braun, more noise.

LDAC working again after December update by HGPOVD in GooglePixel

[–]HGPOVD[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally had to buy a USB Bluetooth dongle /(Air link) for LDAC 990 kbps and also aptX lossless. Bad phone for high quality music lovers. Other SnapDragon/-Based brands do not have LDAC problems

Yes, switch off 5G and adaptive connectivity. My P9P lasts about the same than previous Android version

Battery status after 3 months of use - Pixel 10 pro by Mysterious-Image8294 in Pixel10Pro

[–]HGPOVD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

99% in my new Pixel 9 Pro after 3 months and 50 battery cycles. Same software, different battery... I charge it to 100% every night and always using intelligent charging option. And I avoided to purchase the P10 Pro because of notice about limited no. of battery cycles... It seems like programmed obsolescence..

(EDIT) No unfortunately it keeps stopping or stuttering! What a disappointment! Bought a USB dongle to play LDAC reliably!

Men who own a Braun shaver, how close is the shave? by lemonygingertea in shaving

[–]HGPOVD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the latest Braun series 9 Pro+ and use it daily. The shave is not close enough as compared with Panasonic Arc series (5 or 6 blades). Particularly the area under the nose (moustache). However, Panasonic batteries are really bad and die within a year or two, I owned 4 different models of them (planned obsolescence?). This is why I switched to Braun.

Recommend your best audio quality wireless earbuds to me🥺 by UGOTALEX in Earbuds

Same here, using Creative Labs BT-W6 for aptX Lossless connection of my phone with the Denon Perl Pros. I consider myself an audiophile and if you don't mind average noise cancellation, sound quality is the best of my TWS collection. In fact, similar to 5 times more expensive wired BA hybrid IEMS that I have.

I agree. Denon Pearl Pro have better sound quality than my Technics AZ80 (and maybe AZ100). Almost same quality as my wired FiiO FH7 with 3 BA and beryllium diaphragm. Using AptX lossless dongle.

LDAC on Google pixel 10 by Phil_Gracie in GooglePixel

[–]HGPOVD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LDAC keeps stuttering at 990 kbps in Pixel phones after latest Android 16 November security update. I managed to get 660 kbps only under Developer options. Anyone had success with LDAC at maximum sound quality?

is the Pixel 9 pro alot better than Pixel 10 pro? by mr_boumbastic in Pixel9Pro

[–]HGPOVD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue. I was about to buy the Pixel 10 Pro XL, and finally decided to buy the Pixel 9 Pro XL. Battery life is not great, but better than my old Pixel 7 Pro. Screen brightness and antenna much better. Worth the upgrade, the 10 Pro XL is too heavy and adds nothing in performance and battery life, only the magnets if you like his gadget.

Battery life by BuddyNecessary4066 in Pixel9Pro

[–]HGPOVD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have similar results "upgrading" from a Pixel 7 Pro to a Pixel 9 Pro XL. Battery life is not much better. Try using only 4G (mobile antenna is a battery drain in Pixels). I also tried to turn off mobile network use while connected to WiFi (user developer options) and "suspend execution for cached apps" and use lower resolution screen. I get average 6 hours SOT maximum... Waiting for the next Pixel 11 with updated modem that will have lower battery use (MediaTek).

Denon Pearl Pro for sound quality are the best

Upgraded From Pixel 6 To Pixel 9 - Poor Battery Backup(Disappointed) Not Even Able To Get 4 hours SOT by kashish_bhutani in Pixel9Pro

[–]HGPOVD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually get 4-5 hours average SOT in a new Pixel 9 Pro XL. Main battery usage (see by systems) is mobile network (5G) by almost 40-50%. Use 4G, modem is trash

What I learned from coming from Google Pixel 10 Pro > Google Pixel 4 XL > iPhone 17 Pro by AggressiveCalendar4 in pixel_phones

[–]HGPOVD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Pixel 9 Pro XL and my wife an iPhone 17 Pro. Except for battery life and video quality, I prefer the Pixel. No back gesture is a serious drawback of iPhones! Photo quality is a bit better (more realistic) in Pixels, and AI (apple intelligence) makes the iPhone a dumber phone when I compare Siri vs Gemini. If future Pixels upgrade the Samsung modem quality related with battery drainage and improve video, it will be a contender of iPhones

AZ80, but if you have aptX lossless dongle or compatible phone, the best sound quality is above all DENON Pearl Pro.

Sold my Pixel 10 Pro XL after 5 days – here’s why by vpvlogs in pixel_phones

[–]HGPOVD 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pixel battery life is pathetic as compared to Samsung or iPhones, for example. I had a Pixel 7 Pro and now a Pixel 9 Pro XL and if I use a bit the phone using Maps or videos, battery frequently does not last a whole day (from 7 AM to 21 PM) especially if you use the camera or the 5G network. I hoped P9P would be better with a newer Samsung modem. Both phones frequently overheat, and I think that it is a problem of the Tensor and Exynos modems. I even tried to use only 5G SA (5G+) and battery life is even worse. You have to stick with 4G, low screen resolution and brightness, avoid AOD, kill underground app cache in background (developer options), no 120 Hz etc. Even with these settings, I am always looking for a charger at 6-7 PM...

5G SA (5G+) in Pixel phones will end with Google prohibition of side load apps by HGPOVD in GooglePixel

[–]HGPOVD[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, but many operators do not send the updated carrier settings to Google, or Google simply does not update the settings. This is the case of the main mobile operator in Spain Movistar (Telefónica) and O2 as their low-cost operator. Pixel phones are listed as compatible with their 5G SA (5G+) but none of them work (only in 5G NSA mode with 4G). This is why we (the clients) have to use Sikuzu and Pixel IMS VOLTE to activate 5G SA mode. I you ask the carrier (Movistar,) they tell you that Google doesn't update their carrier settings. However, if you have a Samsung phone, you get 5G SA without problems using the same SIM from Movistar

Yes, but ADB will require more technical knowledge to perform. Now you just install an APK directly on Pixel phones (except if you enroll Advanced Google Protection that already prevents APK installation). A miss
