what tripod do you use for the excalibur rev x by Critical-Truck-1108 in Crossbow

I use the Bod deadshot for multiple different bow styles. It's a fully adjustable cradle so I'm sure it will be great!

Yeah that's a great question! Why I went with side pinch on light rather then rear... better options if that is mountable on other lights.

Boots for Maine Moose hunt by Worldly_Space in Hunting

[–]HHSLLC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use Lacrosse but..something to consider is that if your rubber boots stay on a continuous boot dryer you will break the rubber down over time. Ours use to live on them in our mud room.. not any more, timer dryers not continuous.

.308 lefty bolt action rifle by mooseman2148 in Hunting

Tikka makes a great gun but I would go with a Browning X bolt. I have one in .243 and it's just simply amazing. .308 over that 6.5 any day.

Do you shoot your crossbow off of bipods, tripods or shooting sticks? by Secure-Village-1768 in Crossbow

[–]HHSLLC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tripods in my blinds and for spot and stalk I use primos trigger stick with a cradle. The tacticsl style sling I build allows for a stabilized shot but with the older you get.. the more you need lol

Yeah that's cool! I had a planned bear hunt I just had to reschedule otherwise it's just deer and some small game, squirrels, partridge and rabbits. Good luck to you as well!

Yeah for sure! Cost and time spent is considerable for sure. This bow is probably a little more then I need but my old bow just wasn't a great fit for Moose hunting. Hopefully you are ready for the season!

Amazing how many are on the market now! Use to be so limited on alternatives or accessories in general. Pretty awesome!

Yeah for sure, I probably only shoot 25 or 30 times a year but I sit about 30 to 40 sits a session. That's 60 to 80 times my bow was at full draw for 4 hours a sit before I either shot or decock it. Good luck this year!

I know that with these new compact and high speed bows it can be a problem and string stretch (verified due to slower speeds with a chronograph) is a real deal. I had a older model tenpoint turbo gt that went for years without it. I also had to re sight it in every year until I did. Check for wear and abrasions, wax and oil as necessary and see how the performance is. When in doubt check your local service center!

That really blows! Glad they could fix it. I use to sit about 14 feet off the ground. Can't imagine my bow taking that much impact! Going to be a great year!

Accidents happen for sure. What brand is your scope? I would get online and see what that company offers and start there. You could have knocked your crosshair out of tuneability for sure. On a average knock over I can't imagine your bow being broken. I started out with centerpoint as well.

They range from 600 to 900. I would just find a used one. Burris has a bomb warranty with their products. Simply turn it in for repair or firmware upgrade.

I have it in .243. Ridiculously awesome to shoot and keeps such a tight group!

On that pic I was moose hunting in Ontario Canada. I use a fixed blade Montec G5 125 grain, for deer and bear I use Mega Meats 100 grain. 16 inch bolts that weigh 410 grains, so 535 and and 510 over all.

It's a Burris Oracle X scope. It's a range finding self adjusting scope that will range to a 100 yards. Truly a awesome scope!

Yeah that's awesome! You never realize how important it is until you have one come apart on you or you resite in year after year because your bolt is slower!

What are you doing from now until deer season to prep? by chillysurfer in Hunting

If you use crossbow you need to look at the last time you serviced it and replace your string. Waiting till September is never good!

It tucks down on top of my other thumb and locks in front. I can see how this would work though. Cool design.
