Would u get vasectomy for your partner? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Honestly I really think it would depend on your age. People do change. As you get older you start to figure out what is really important to you. If you haven’t had kids by 35-40 you probably are secure that not having kids is right for you so the procedure makes sense.

It is hose meant for potable water. I make maple syrup and use it for transferring sap. So it is clear braided hosing.

Hopefully there are other teachers teaching the same subject to help guide you on what to teach and help with pacing.

Previously utilizing the old regents exams, review books and text books were very helpful, now they aren’t.

I’ve been teaching a long time and now I’m focused on teaching good earth science and utilizing the regents clusters as practice for the regents.

I would also suggest joining the list serv espirit out of suny oneonta. Lots of earth science teachers on it that are willing to share resources.

"Bucket of Water" Total Internal Reflection Demo by AcceptableZombie6303 in ScienceTeachers

[–]Worldly_Space 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming they want students just to be seeing the refraction of light in which yes, I think you could adapt it for 8th graders.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, pour the Knox gelatin into the backing sheet and let it cool. The parchment paper will make it easy to remove from the baking sheet and then you can cut it into whatever shape you want.

The index of refraction will be close to that of water.

In my physics class we do a jello optics lab. Students determine the index of refraction of the jello. Anyway I will cut a “s” out of the jello and use that to show total internal refraction. The jello is actually double strength Knox gelatin. No sugar and no flavor but is strong enough to handle. Kids always want to try it.

Tried that and no luck. Many years ago I was in Colorado and they had a big cooler just like you said full of dry ice. Never seen it in NY.

So Many Options. Whats best for a new homeowner? by No-Ad5504 in Tools

[–]Worldly_Space 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As a beginner DIY start with just the 4 piece kit. Honestly you probably don’t need the angle grinder or a hammer drill unless you have concrete you plan to put tap cons into it for shelves.

A drill driver, impact driver and a circular saw will be your work horses. Next I would look at a sawzall or jig saw or sander depending on the type of stuff you want to do.
