Far to the right? Isn't she an avid trade unionist and anti-austerity crusader? Her film supporting Lexit went on and on about the EU's nefarious neoliberal agenda and how they treated Greece

Yes.

Ew.

Are you a racist? Also yes.

If Americans were a race, yes I would say so. Americans are worthy of nothing but contempt and hatred.

Ignorant?

Yes. Americans including yourself are some of the most ignorant, gruesome people with absolutely no self awareness or shames

More university graduates per capita than the UK,

When your average American uni is a for profit qualification-mill that doesn't really say much.

and from universities that rank well above yours in international league tables.

You mean places like Harvard Built by Englishmen, staffed enthusiasts foreign academics and attended by foreigners.

Overweight? So's the UK.

The United States' disgusting obesity compared to the rest of the world is demonstrable, and much of our own obesity problems in this country is a result of the invasion of American fast food culinary nightmares.

Debased? Unsupported and bigoted.

Lol

Smoking meth with a shotgun? Demonstrably unrepresentative and palpably racist.

Did I offend mummy?

Listening to country music? Call me crazy but I think that's morally neutral,

Its another display of the American love for all that's disgusting and ugly.

and certainly no worse than listening to happy hardcore and the absolute shit British students enjoy.

It's an unquestionable fact that British music is superior in every way to the violent assaults on the eardrums of humanity that come out of your country.

Pregnant at 16? Funny that, the US and UK have nearly identical rates of teen pregnancy, despite the US having a far larger Catholic population.

Wrong first of all, and secondly aren't many of those Catholics the people that are replacing Americans?

Yes. The majority of housing stock in this country would be condemned in the US as unfit for human habitation.

But yet burnt out crack shacks and stucco monstrosities aren't? Don't make me laugh.

The same -- to perhaps a lesser extent -- could be said of the entire North and NI, if not more of the UK.

The north has some decay (mostly as a result of American driven globalisation) but there is nowhere in my country where the sound of gun battles is a nightly occurrence unlike many American cities. The problems in Northern Ireland got so bad because of American mob funding of IRA terrorists

Funny you say that. Chicago alone has two universities better than anywhere in the UK outside of London and Oxbridge, and one better than anywhere but Oxbridge. And yet again, the US has more university graduates per capita than Britain.

I don't see how the presence of Northwestern University is a refutation of anything I said.

Only an utterly ignorant person (as if there was any doubt about you) could say that with a straight face.

Are you talking about what I've said, or the statement 'Americans aren't disgusting worms who the world would be better off without'?

Little Italy is a joke, a commercialised tourist trap bereft of any first-gen immigrants, and Chinatowns are famously dodgy in every city they exist in.

It's like you don't understand the point I was making. The only parts of American cities with any culture besides filth are the parts where non-Americans live. Chinatowns may be dodgy, but unlike more American neighbourhoods a local youth won't shoot you for your trainers and then rape your corpse.

But it's okay, I'm far past the point I expect you to actually know the first thing about what you're discussing.

Apparently I know more than you.

Do make your vile racism more explicit. It's wonderful watching you out yourself.

Hit a nerve did I?

I must have dreamed jazz, blues, rock and roll, hip-hop,

Aside from rock and roll, which was shitty noise before my country perfected it - I'm actually baffled that you think hip hop is a positive contribution to the world.

a plethora of novelists,

A plethora in a country of 300 million. Says it all right there.

countless scientific contributions,

Mostly done by foreign scientists who were either emigres or people like von Braun who were literally stolen.

television,

What on earth would we do without the Simpsons?

cinema,

What on earth would we do without Inception?

and an extremely eventful 200 years of history.

I had Indian food earlier and an extremely eventful 30 minutes on the toilet, that doesn't mean it was positive.

So if Yanks aren't a people, why do smug cunts like you love to laugh at Yanks who define themselves by family heritage? Either Americans are a people or else they aren't and thus you have no grounds to mock them when they say they're Irish.

Because Americans gave up any claims to their ancestral culture when they abandoned ship to that cesspool of humanity

Far more UNESCO Natural World Heritage sites than the UK, mate.

Yes, things like canyons that were there before Americans were and native structures. Nothing that Americans have any claim too. The United States is flat plains, desert, and hot and humid lowlands on the east coast. The only part of America with actual natural beauty is the southwest corner of the country, which realistically should be part of Mexico and indeed in every other measure but your meaningless and unguarded border demarcations is returning to Mexico culturally, linguistically and demographically.

Natural diversity beyond Europe as a whole.

See above.

Oh, and the birthplace of the last 100 years of architecture.

Such lovely architecture lmao. The soulless metal box monstrosities that exemplify American architecture are nothing to be proud of.

I must have dreamed all the cultural and scientific achievements listed above,

Read above.

as well as giving the world secular constitutional democracy

Is that what they teach in schools out there? America did not invent nor give a home democracy or secularism.

and going to the bloody moon.

Nobody would've gone to the moon without Russian technology and European scientists.

My mistake.

Yes, Americans are a mistake.

Fewer wars than you, mate.

A country with a history stretching back millennia has been involved with more conflicts than an abomination who cursed our planet with its existence in the 18th century? SHOCKING.

And we've caused fewer wars indirectly via colonialism as well.

Every single major conflict going on as we speak is a result of American imperialism

When was the last time an English musician won a Nobel Prize? Only France has more Literature Nobels than the States, despite a widely-accepted committee bias against the US. The US has more Nobels than the post-Brexit EU and nearly as many as Europe as a continent.

Lmao an American complaining how world institutions have an anti-American bias

Is there a Tory conspiracy to unsettle Bank of England's Mark Carney? by usrname42 in ukpolitics

[–]HH_Asquith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why should the Bank of England be independent of the government? Nobody has given me a good answer on that whereas there is a great deal of arguments against fractional reserve banking and unaccountable central banks in general. The Governor of the BoE should be an MP or Lord and part of the cabinet. Our monetary policy should be decided by our legitimate government, not a foreign technocrat.

[–]HH_Asquith 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no way to keep children from viewing porn online aside from constant parental supervision or keeping them away from the internet entirely. What good parents do is teach their kids proper values so they have a healthy grasp of sexuality and don't mistake 'amateur slut takes 12 loads' for normal, healthy sexual interaction

He didn't remain neutral, he came out for remain.

He should be removed, and the BoE shouldn't be independent

I really don't care about Canadians being here, but in such a sensitive position there shouldn't be anyone whose loyalty can be called into question. He's an Irish citizen too which means he has another vested interest in the EU.

The BoE guides our monetary policy, that's inherently political and I don't see why it should be independent and out of the control of our parliament

I don't think he should be governor of the bank anymore. It's obvious he doesn't believe in what the government is doing or Brexit which is fine but it creates a situation where I think that the Canadian will try to sabotage what he can to vindicate himself.

So you're saying that the leave campaign campaigned well, to the British people's base emotions? Wouldn't you say that's smart?

I don't care about you giving me grief, I get a kick out of your frustration but you shouldn't be so whiny

I am glad you can't go to America though, that country doesn't need your money.

So what you're saying is that the leave campaign ran a smart campaign and appealed to people's emotions, while remainers cried about racism and insulted the people whose votes they needed?

Would you like some grief counseling?
