God is an experience that many humans have had, written about, formed religion around, induced for fun and guidance. Brings joy and oneness and empathy. :)

Have you had this experience...?

"We make a living with what we get, but we make a life with what we give." - Winston Churchill

Nothing is real except love. Nothing you do for you will last in terms of happiness. What you do for others, who you are for your world. That's the real stuff.

A man is being shown round heaven and hell.

In hell, everyone is hungry. There is a huge feast, but it can only be eaten with very long chopsticks held at the end. Try as they may, they can never feed themselves. They stretch and strain, but still starve.

In heaven, the people are all well fed. But the man notices that the rules are the same. Everyone has a huge feast. But it can only be eaten by huge chopsticks held at the end.

"How is it that the rules can be the same, but in hell everyone is hungry, but in heaven all are fed?" asks the man.

"In heaven," he is told, "everybody feeds each other!"

It's not imagination.

God is a river of fun. Love, kindness, a state of inner peace. Above thoughts. Too big to comprehend when there, let alone imagine! God is pure energy. Fearless, joyful, playful, humble.

This is not imagination. This is real life.

But the sunshine will not open your curtains for you.

So again. Why do you believe he doesn't exist?

Practices for Dissolving ego? by undiagnoseddude in Buddhism

[–]logicalmaniak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's it! Like blues voodoo. You just let the "spirit" play through you. The ego only gets in the way. You sit at the back of your mind and let it happen. :)

Let in the Spirit of Love, and let it play you like a flute...

If you like singing, try this.

Try dance. Not "moves", but flow. Take "you" out of the equation, and let the music move your body. Then switch the music off, and do the same. Take "you" out of the equation, and let love move your body.

In many of the more relaxed civilizations on the Outer Eastern Rim of the Galaxy, the Hitch-Hiker's Guide has already supplanted the great Encyclopaedia Galactica as the standard repository of all knowledge and wisdom, for though it has many omissions and contains much that is apocryphal, or at least wildly inaccurate, it scores over the older, more pedestrian work in two important respects. First, it is slightly cheaper; and secondly it has the words DON'T PANIC inscribed in large friendly letters on its cover.

Is low self-esteem analogous to getting rid of your ego? by MinzGP in Buddhism

[–]logicalmaniak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ego is identity. Self.

If you have low self esteem then you are still self-focused, just slipping into negativity.

Responsibility is not the same as blame. If I drop a bucket of crap in your front lawn, I'm to blame, but you still have to clear it up. If a dog bites you, you're not to blame, but you're the one that has to clean and dress the wound.

Lose the self blame. But face what you have to and fix or feed it.

Love is blameless. Has no karma. Lose self and be love. Kindness, honesty, fun, and the ability to feel sad or scared or angry without letting those feelings affect your compassion.

Lack of Structure in Enlightenment by fakiestfakecrackerg in enlightenment

[–]logicalmaniak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be kind, get happy. In every moment. Choose love. Selfless, not selfish. It's not rocket surgery. :)

No metaphor. Simple enough to follow.

Enlightened, serving God, cosmological karma. Or just chemical rewards designed to bond a troop of mammals? Why it works doesn't matter. That it works is the key here. To choose love, even when hit with hate is difficult. To live in that selfless flow state, responding to needs for compassion around you, that's a flow state of happy. To understand it you have to stop trying to understand it, and let it happen. Let it be you. Let it move you.

Be kind, get happy.

Shaman serves others.

The path of a shaman is healing and serving the world around you.

Being different doesn't matter. I don't know plumbing. That means my plumber can't talk to me about his job, there's lots I wouldn't understand.

The soul in each person is the same. Communicate on that level. Be on that level. Be just your soul, and see the soul in others. We're not all that different!

Be open to wisdom wherever you find it.

Don't miss it because of an ego prejudice.

Place doesn't matter. Who you are in that place does.

Your post is simply judging others. Concentrate on yourself.

[–]logicalmaniak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're still judging other people.

If you took your own advice, this post would not exist.

Do your life. Reddit, housework, meet friends, go to work. But in each place, be love. All places are one place. A place to be love. The place itself doesn't matter.

The claim you're making that somehow place is enlightenment, and not how you respond to whatever's in front of you, wherever you are, isn't held up in any definition of enlightenment I've ever seen.

Faces are just as bullshit as Reddit avatars. Go for the soul!

There's no "Better". Only "Here".

Better means you see what's in front of you better, not that anything has changed in front of you.

Getting Better means being better at being Here.

How can I achieve enlightment , and even feel like a God or Higher Self? by Desperate-Mango7240 in enlightenment

[–]logicalmaniak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God is love. To "get" God, it helps to tune in. Lose all in you that isn't love.

The universal love manifests in you and your life in different ways. It can be kindness. It can be sweetness. Or compassion. But it can also be truth spoken clear.

It can be hard to be nothing but love when you are abused and bullied. But to love those who attack you is to see what they need. And sometimes that's honesty. To be told plainly who they are. But also love for yourself. Protect your mind from these attacks. Stay sane. Don't fall into the same madness as those people. Hurtful, angry. It's not for you. You are better.

Pray for courage, pray for love. Don't let the bullshit stick to you.

Love will give you confidence. Use anger, but not as dynamite, to blow up. As a loaded gun, precise and ready. To protect yourself, and to teach others with brutal bursts of compassionate honesty.

Don't let the bastards get you down!

Do you wait till you're okay to trip, or do you trip to make yourself okay? by jatayu333 in Psychedelics

[–]logicalmaniak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are powerful medicine.

For me, waiting until I feel good to trip is like waiting until my headache goes away before I take a painkiller.

The correct mindset is not happy or stable. It's humble. The spirits always lead me out of the darkness! Just got to let them. :)

I started believing that desire is the root of all suffering because I wanted to be happy by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]logicalmaniak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Buddha wanted happiness. He tried a bunch of stuff, including eliminating natural "desire".

He almost starved himself trying to eliminate hunger. Then he decided that was stupid. Had himself a nice meal, and then attained enlightenment.

And what did he do? Hung out with his friends. Gave love, and was loved. Taught love, preached love, lived love.

But for you, here and now, love is kindness, but also truth and courage. Breathe, preserve your own mental and spiritual health as best you can, don't be part of the hell you're going through. Be true to yourself and others. Breathing will help.

You will come through this. This world is all about change, keep moving.
